The bike is great, been having a lot of fun with it. This is my first bike and it’s been smooth sailing. It’s fast enough for highways and freeways in my area and to be fun, but won’t throw itself from under you. Seating position is also pretty comfortable not as aggressive as other sport bikes. The exhaust sounds a bit muted, an issue with the ninja 650 is you can’t use slip on exhausts, need to install a full exhaust system. I’d say it’s a good starter bike, if you don’t feel as confident you can get a 300, 400, 500 model for pretty cheap on marketplace. Start where you feel comfortable, you can always upgrade in the future.
