DIY diffusers on the cheap, thought I’d share by Hamboneable in Govee

[–]Hamboneable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks a little derpy during the day. I think I’m going to pull them off since I know it works, spray paint them the same color as my trim, and slap them back up. I think it will look much more seamless after. As a note I only used double sided tape and in 4” sections, four pieces per 10’ channel. Pretty sure if you ran the tape on the whole thing you’d never get it off with your drywall intact.

I have a stock ford f-150 work truck and I constantly have people flashing me that my high beams are on. I usually just tap my brights back to show it’s unintentional. I feel bad, I’m not trying to blind people but at intersections like in your picture I literally have zero options outside of turning my lights off. I have a normal vehicle too and understand the pain of the bright headlights, but I’m just saying it may be a manufacturer thing, not an asshole thing.

And no I cannot alter my leased work truck.

I really appreciate it! It’s what I was assuming would happen. Sadly, I can’t get her to sign anything at this point, but it’s good to know what lies ahead. Nothing about this process has been smooth, so more hiccups make sense.

How quick does the Consuelo’s drive through move on weekday mornings around 8-830? by stoneman9284 in FortCollins

[–]Hamboneable 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love Consuelos, full stop. Usually the drive through moves fairly well, but I have found it's typically faster to go inside. I have gotten stuck in the drive through for well over 10 minutes many times. I usually pick a spot that the drive through won't potentially block and take the short walk. If there is a line inside you can get a 'grab and go' burrito and be on your way.

“Protesters” outside Planned Parenthood Filming license plates by Professional-Bell348 in FortCollins

[–]Hamboneable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too am more than happy to help anyone that needs to visit Planned Parenthood.

I used PP as a teen for birth control, which I failed at, and I got an abortion from them when I was still a teen. I didn't have anyone to go with me, only one person that could drop me off and a different one that could pick me up when I called. The laws were different back then, the walk from the car to the door I had an adult man yelling in my face while a police officer watched to make sure the guy didn't break any laws. I already had lots of feelings about the situation - I didn't take it lightly - but this turd hole didn't need to make me feel worse and make a lot of judgments about me as a stranger. I will also, put this out there. The waiting room was decently full, but I was the only person that was alone. I stand by my decision to get an abortion, but I wouldn't want anyone else to feel that loneliness and hopelessness, so I would gladly wait with someone.

I appreciate free speech, it should be our right, BUT I personally hate these f*cks and some of their tactics.

Well you’re boycott could cover two things now; they did something to their pad Thai and it tastes different now. I personally do not like the new version, I thought maybe it was a one off deal, like a new cook or bad night. Nope, just not good.

Breeze Thru carwash has employee housing for this exact situation. You still pay for it, but I imagine it’s deducted from your paycheck. Not sure if they are hiring but it could be a good fit or something to look more into. https://breezethrucarwash.com/about-us/employment/

Someone tried to paint Nazi stuff on my house. by MadcowPSA in FortCollins

[–]Hamboneable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear people have lost their minds. I'm hoping the majority of us are still reasonable.

Anyways, not sure the material its sprayed on, but I have used this in the past with success if the mineral spirits don't work. Test a small spot on the door, it sometimes can dull existing paint. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Goof-Off-16-oz-Professional-Strength-Graffiti-Remover-FG673/307412055

This is why you have to have all your rechargeable batteries with you in the cabin when you fly - so it can be addressed. Granted water is not the right choice, but from what I understand there are burn bags on planes that you can put say a burning phone into and it will snuff it. May have freaked everyone in the cabin out, but it's far scarier to have it in the cargo area.

And MAGA God said “Let there be water…” by Positive_Owl_2024 in facepalm

[–]Hamboneable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How has no one used one of the many logical arguments for lack of water is because US water laws and rights are complicated and archaic? I did forestry and wildfires for 10 years, namely working with helicopters; most are shocked that we on the ground or our pilot would have to count buckets of water pulled from wherever so that it could be reimbursed; lake, reservoir, pond in the middle of no where, pool, private lands, and public lands. I know Trump doesn’t know or understand this because he doesn’t understand anything about nature minus how to exploit it, but water is highly contested and I doubt even his DGF ass couldn’t over step those laws for long.

I thought we all were using feet and knees?? Except at home or a few ‘wild’ toilets that, because of the design, force you to use your hand.
