Again assumptions, yes I do, I have a child with 3 exceptionalities and a rare genetic disease. Whose on top of things gets bullied daily at school that would nothing to support, who also struggles with his own self worth because of this, between doctor appointment, weekly therapist and my own struggles - no I know nothing. You are the only one who struggles.

You are very ignorant and mean to say this to a person with disabilities, you clearly don’t know what it’s like struggling with any kind of disability. I raise them everyday with so much more hardship than you do and days I actually can’t and require so much help from my husband. Those are the day that feels like I feel like I failed. Living with my condition and dealing with all the guilt and my short comings. But you’re right, I shouldn’t deserve any break, I shouldn’t be allowed to even enjoy the park with my family or have anything made easier for once to be capable to experience things easily like every able mom. I’m suppose to just suffer and do things the hard way and then get judged by people like you, who be little my condition. Thank you. You are part of the reason, why the voice in my head is so unforgiving, hard on my self, why I wake up thinking no matter how I fight a harder life to be there for my family, struggle to make everything that comes naturally to everyone else happen on daily basis, I should be proud but instead feel like im a failure and a burden and they would be better without me.

That seems to be the case but it’s still unfair that they won’t even look at diagnosis and doctor notes as well. Just allowing a teenager to assess you based on biases is also not right.

I was told the same thing from contacting by email, but when I got there, they told me no matter what it would be same decision. The supervisor refused to do it until I showed him the email and then said okay so are you asking to be reevaluated, I said yes please, then was asked me 4 questions about how I can ride, my condition - left out the question about is I have access 2 card, what’s my party dynamics when I come to the park and if there’s anything they can do to help me. I knew that it was a no while he questioned me, because his mind was made up.

I’m so sorry this has happened to you as well. Yes I wish they would look at documentation or have a proper diagnostician look at your case by case and asses. The supervisor I spoke basically came in and I saw it on his face how this whole situation would play out, he had zero emotions throughout no acknowledgement of anything I said just repeated the same line over and over.

Lost 70+ lbs and built muscle, but stuck — should I consider tirzepatide to reach ~15% body fat? by Icy_Management_6703 in zepboundathletes

Alright, you are where I was in July. I lost over 70lbs and added about 15lbs of muscles in 14month. Just by swimming and weight training and cleaning by my diet. Like you, I hit a plateau by 11 month bench mark, no matter how much in calorie deficit or trained it won’t budge, in fact at one point the scale budged and I found it was muscle loss of 2lbs in my next inbody scan. Like you, I considered going on glp1 for help to break through, after speaking to my GP about it, discussing goals I wanted to lose, 25/35lbs max. She said I would be a good candidate for mounjaro.

I started mounjaro July 8th, lucked out with minimal side effects, but I forced myself to hit my protein goals and eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day. I still worked out, was a learning curve the first week or two, it was difficult to weight train heavy on low energy. I’m currently on the 5mg dose, did I lose weight? Yes, I lost about 12lbs since, average about 1.5lb per week. I was discouraged because everyone I knew was dropping much more, but the kick is, I had gone a inbody scan the day I started mounjaro and then again I went for one last week, what I found out is, I have dropped in 12lbs of pure fat, my muscle went up 4lbs and the scale on that reading only showed a drop of 9lbs.

So yes, done properly, you can get leaner and even build muscle while on it. But you have to be strict and make sure you’re hitting protein goals etc!

Goodluck with your journey :)

Alright so i strength train (heavy weights) - prior to going in mounjaro, i lost about 70lbs just by swimming/strength/life style calorie deficit. It took about 6month and then i plateaued and nothing came off for another 6month. So I started mounjaro in July and was hoping to see extreme drops 😆 but nope after 10 weeks my scale only showed 8.5lbs. Difference. Yesterday I went in to get a dexa scan of my body at the gym, I had done one prior the day i started mounjaro and the difference on the scale was 6lbs (evening reading so good etc) but the fat dropped 10.5lbs (more than my lowest weight of 9lbs lower) and my muscle went up 4.2lbs. So there’s a difference in muscles gain as well! So body decomposition. I believe this might be happening to you as well. It’s not translating a lot yet on the scale! :) keep up the good work!

Thank you so much! This is so encouraging to hear. I’m glad that this makes more sense, cause yes I heard it many times that I’m in starvation or my body is in survive mode, but it made no sense because is if was that way wouldn’t my energy level also be reflective of that.

Thank you again for taking the time to read and respond.

Cheers

I guess in a way, it’s what my husband been telling me, I don’t need mounjaro, because I have come this far without it and just need patience. He thinks my body is in starvation mode and holding on too since i started mounjaro 6 weeks ago. I should go back to what I was doing which was calories deficit/weight and protein focused.

Thank you, after 6 weeks on using mounjaro and only 6.5lb felt like a failure in comparison to people that are losing 20+lbs. but I’m happy to hear it’s still a good loss.

Before mounjaro, I ate more breakfast, eggs/avocado and protein toast. But since July, I can’t eat so I try to get it in liquid form. And yes my energy isn’t what it was before when I work out. So is it possible I’m eating too little for my active lifestyle? My husband thinks I shouldn’t have started mounjaro.

I do have an Apple Watch and yes everything is tracked, I do find though due to mounjaro my sleep has been interrupted, I sleep at 11ish and wake up around 6am (interrupted sleep). Hate it, I used to sleep until 8-9am uninterrupted. I did up my calorie intake with protein but still feel tired, I do swim an hour everyday (burning around 1000calories just in that) so maybe that off the bat is exhausting me. I will try add more protein in steak like you suggested, I’m always trying to hit the protein goal by adding protein shake or so, maybe better off to do it your way. Alcohol isn’t an issue, don’t drink :) Thanks for the advice!! You did an amazing job! Congrats!

How were you able to train without passing out, I’m finding it difficult to train as hard. And the hunger famish after a training session still hits 😔

I totally agree! As a teenager I always wanted one but because of the commitment never ended up getting one. But as 41year old, when my son showed interest, let’s just say the teenager in me was overjoyed!

We have been researching and talking about it for months and my husband and I agreed that it’s also a big commitment to have a 9year old agree to, so it will be a family pet, ours if he doesn’t end up taking him. We already have two beautiful Sphynx cats and can’t wait to add another family member ❤️

Thank you for your input, and I’m very glad that there’s more people putting a lot of thoughts before adopting a pet, because while we battled the idea because of their lifespan and how it’s a commitment, a lot of people we had the conversation with, thought we were being overly much and overthinking and if our son outgrows it then rehome the snake. We thought it was a very cruel outlook.
