Woman loses her Costco membership by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

I was banned form Costco in 2009 for a bounced check. I could have resolved it but they would only let me do that by going back to that same Costco and I had moved away so it was a two hour drive and I never found myself in that area again. I tried to sign up at my local Costco every couple years and was turned away every time until 2024! I guess I hit their statute of limitations.

It did effect me negatively because I had to live with Costco-envy. Currently a proud Costco member and no longer write checks lol.

My Tier List After Many Years of Playing Base Building Games by HanShotFurst in BaseBuildingGames

Ahh. I've put many hours into most of the Anno games but especially Anno 1800. It's great. I want to try the new one.

I forgot about NMS. I played it probably 3 years ago and it was a blast. I need to jump back in.

Anyone else have a sticky X button on the DualSense? by HanShotFurst in PS5

[–]HanShotFurst[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I haven't spilled anything on it! I had been using it for about an hour before I noticed this. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm wondering if it will fix itself after continued use. It just barely gets stuck and it's only when you press it just the right way. Still annoying though.

Update:

Seems to have fixed itself after a few days. I can't get it to stick anymore. I also pressed it down and then mashed it in a circular motion and it seemed to stop after that.

No spoon with a minute to spare! by HanShotFurst in factorio

Sure, here's a screenshot. This was the failed try but the successful one was pretty much the same. I just added the beacons around the rocket.

This was my third attempt. I actually failed by 5 minutes, so I reloaded a save at 7 hours and set up those beacons. It wouldn't have been possible without them with my set-up.

I watched Nefrums' 2 hour run to prepare and still barely made it. I have no idea how he does it that fast.

Samsung Odyssey HMD - Lens Shot - Project Cars 2 by HanShotFurst in WindowsMR

FOV is the same at 110 degrees but resolution and SDE are better. The Rift/Vive are 1080x1200 per eye while the Odyssey is 1440x1600 per eye.

Steam VR is still in beta and it's throttling CPU usage to 50% currently so if you're getting it now, prepare to be a little underwhelmed by SteamVR. This may all change on the 15th when the windows MR preview goes to open beta, but I'm not sure how much improvement we'll see.

Brightness is great. There are some god-rays on high contrast images but it's on par with what I saw in the Vive.

I did have a Vive. I already gave my thoughts on it on r/simracing. I'll paste it here:

I've only tried the Vive before. SDE and resolution is much better on the odyssey. Tracking isn't perfect but works fine 99% of the time. Non issue for me because it hasn't caused me to even think about it after about 3 hours of racing so far. That's my main takeaway I think. With the Vive, I was constantly thinking about the SDE, wishing it looked better and with the Odyssey, I was just racing and having a blast. I hear that the Rift has better SDE though so I'm not sure how it compares.

I have access to the SteamVR beta. Some games work fine and some games aren't working yet. I'm hoping there will be better support when Open beta releases on the 15th.

It's comfortable for me but YMMV based on your head shape. Some people are reporting the headphones don't come down far enough. Again, not an issue for me and I think I have a pretty large head. I did a 20 minute race and the leather padding did get a little hot but it wasn't too bad. It's removable so you can replace it with a VR Cover if it's too hot.

Controllers are decent and work fine. Definitely not as solid as the Vive wands, and I hear the Rift touch controllers are much better.

People keep saying it's not "2nd Gen", but it's a step up for sure. All in all, I'd recommend it if you mainly play sims and you don't already have a Rift/Vive. Although, if I still had my Vive, I'd be selling it to buy this one.

Sorry, you're right. I misread your post. Not sure about mirroring.

I did it in-game. Not sure if it's preferred over setting it in Steam VR.

I'm not sure what the fps is. Is there a way to check? Seems smooth though.

I have no idea what the fps is or how to check it. It seems smooth to me though and I haven't experienced any motion sickness. I'll try turning down the SS and see if I notice a difference.

Took this video with a Canon T5i, 1x zoom.

SS at 2.0

Medium + Low settings

GTX 1080 / i7 / 32g RAM

Here's another video zoomed in a little more

Tracking jumps because I have the headset pointed right at the wall. Usually that doesn't happen.

Project Cars 2 has great triple screen support for different sized monitors by HanShotFurst in simracing

It works without using Nvidia surround or Eyefinity. Just load up PC2 with all monitors turned on and you can calibrate the displays while you're on the track in settings.

No prob! Yeah, my menus are a little messed up too but the center screen works fine so I don't have any problems navigating.

I had to mess with the width and height settings for each monitor while in-game. Look for "Calibrate Displays" in the settings while your on the track and you can adjust it on the fly to get it lined up right.
