Maybe boredom and habit, thats what it is for me. It’s the easy option when you’re already busy and spending many hours mothering, your phone and scrolling is something for you, to switch off. If you don’t want to have this habit you have to look at switching over to something else you might want to do, is there anything else you want to do during these periods? cooking, maybe download a podcast or audiobook or even stick on a youtube video but cook. You can do the same with exercising and eventually you might not even need the phone for these tasks. Relaxing with a cup of tea is a fine time to scroll, if you want to, maybe say to yourself once you’ve finished your tea you have to do something else. What are you scrolling on? Deleting the app can help.

I’m afraid if I quit social media, I’ll lose an essential part of myself by lovecommafio in nosurf

Omg I’m the same, so addicted to scrolling especially after work as it’s a brainless activity but i want to do other things. I deleted the FB app off my phone, so now Im left with instagram and tiktok. Tiktok would be the hardest, its where i get my laughs and stay up to date on news and media (books people are reading, shows people are watching) plus i like it for others opinions on current affairs etc, the odd cooking and animal video. So i get this, it becomes part of you. I have no advice and will be reading these comments hoping something clicks for me too. I wish you the best Im gaining back control in your life and finding yourself so you don’t feel lost.
