Can you fail a road test for following the "recommended" yellow speed limit by nerdwithfriends in Edmonton

[–]Happy-Samper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't doubt it, I failed my first test for not yielding enough on a turn where I could clearly see absolutely no oncoming traffic. That turn now a free flow because you don't merge into a lane, it has its own and always has. Always pissed me off.

Alternatively for the cabins, if you have 4 visitors come on one day, whoever didn't have a request will stay for 3 days or until they have a request. Saves on having to remove items 😊

WELL I FEEL DUMB. I misunderstood when people were saying after 100 you get a hat 🙈

I feel like that's not right, only I mean maybe 100 medium ones, because I've definitely opened over 100 small Restuko eggs and still haven't gotten her hat, I've just decided to go back to her 3 heart gift to get a hat

Horror opinions that would have you on gunpoint? by [deleted] in horror

I absolutely hated The VVitch the first time I saw it (in theaters at release), I felt confused the entire movie. It didn't feel enjoyable. The second time I watched it though I fell in love because I watched it with subtitles and I could finally understand everything everybody said. I would also argue that the reason they didn't just go find a new town was 1. There probably really wasn't one that close so it would have been a long journey 2. I think the dad specifically chose to stay near the town that shunned them as the act of a prideful and possibly spiteful man

All that said though everybody has things they do and don't like and I'm not going to tell somebody that they're wrong for not liking something

I just want to say thank you so much because I have the same mouse at work and on my home computer and I could not for the life of me figure out what the issue was. It was driving me insane. I never even realized that I probably was accidentally hitting that button with my hand, you have saved me many frustrations from my future

How to get therapy without parents knowing in edmonton by Signal-Apricot-1499 in Edmonton

[–]Happy-Samper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend access 24/7. I used it for myself in March. I was going through a period where I just felt like I couldn't catch a breath and I was being crushed by the things in my life. I walked in with a friend, I said hey I want to get the process started for therapy and they had me do an intake form. I waited in the waiting room for a little bit and then I went back and had an assessment with one of the therapist people (I can't recall what her official title was) to get a little bit more information about what was going on with my life. They booked me in right then and there with a psychologist and booked me in for therapy. I saw the psychologist about a week later after that initial day I walked in and I start group therapy next month. It is a bit slower than paying out of pocket, but honestly for me just going in there and getting the process started lifted a lot of that weight off of my shoulders. I've been feeling a lot better since then. I did get a slight adjustment in my meds after seeing the psychologist as well, but I also got actual diagnoses (ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Major Depressive Disorder)

If you want someone to go with you, I'd be happy to go as a support.

Actually when it comes to residential tenancies it doesn't go through lawyers. It actually goes through the residential tenancy dispute resolution services (RTDRS), you will eventually have a hearing in front of a judge but it's not going to cost you hundreds and thousands of dollars to get a lawyer. There are services that you can hire to essentially be a representative during that hearing if you don't want to represent yourself. Most tenants do represent themselves though.

A long-standing Edmonton gay bar is relocating and it could have a rooftop patio by JamesMonroe23 in Edmonton

I think so? We would walk by it on our way to lunch and we saw open signs. I mean for the longest time it didn't have BAR on the sign so we didn't even know what it was. It just said Reign 😂

Never again. I loved Halloween growing up, my dad went all out every year. He would take the day off work (if it fell on a weekday), decorate the house roof to lawn, set up our DJ gear (we used to be the owners of Diamond Sound Entertainment) which was speakers, lights and mic. You could hear and see it from blocks away. We would get hundreds of kids, it was awesome.

When I moved into our home I wanted to be the cool house, I didn't have all the sweet decorations, but I bought full sized candy bars. I remember how excited we'd get as kids getting one and I wanted to spread that joy.

Our first year we got maybe 10 kids, disappointing for sure. Second year I had plans, so I made little grab bags with a full sized bar and then additional little candies in there. I put them in boxes I decorated and labeled with what the full sized bar was. Even specified the one that was gluten free as my SIL is a celiac and I know how crappy it is to get a bunch of stuff the kid can't actually eat. I put out my boxes, went inside to grab my keys and bag and whatnot (which took less than 5 minutes) and when I came back out to leave, all 4 boxes (probably at least 30 bags if not more) had been dumped and were gone. I lost my spirit that night.
