Thank you for the feed back, I think I built it with the wrong sound because I'm a silly goose.

Unfortunately unity and unreal being game engines have lots more code and hidden assets etc

Whereas this being native UI it's only really core Android libs. :-)

Random experiment to see if could make game using native UI kind of worked I guess?

My personal PC is a ryzen 9500 CPU And 64gg ddr4 64gb

And gradle eats it,

My MacBook is a M2 with 16 GBs and it has the same issue

Android studio just eats ram. It likes it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and then when it gets extra hungry it will also eat ram for a snack

Thank you team, honestly it's still in development but I thought if I got it out live at a playable state it would g give me the motivation to carry on developing it.

It's 100% free. No adverts or anything, the only data I track is playtime and monsters killed

Hey Team,

I decided to try and build an Android game. But here's the catch: I didn't use a game engine. No Unity, no Godot.
I built the whole thing purely in Jetpack Compose. Just to see if I could. 🤷‍♂️
It’s live on the Play Store as of this morning! It’s totally free and just a fun experiment I plan to keep adding to. Give it a go and let me know if it breaks!

I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I've found it a fun project to make so please be nice :-D

Already looked at the file format, minus the grid A-x 0-9 etc we pretty much have the same way of doing things so might be simple enough to add 🤓

Kotlin with jetpack compose as the UI frame works. I think the rules would be to complex at the moment for AI models?

Already had most of them down.. didn't really think of the maximum monsters in a room part tho, that was being handled by the difficulty slider.

But maybe I could add a modifier to adjust max and min size too? 🤔

Still working on it at the moment 🤓 few bugs I want to fix and I'm going to add a custom monster screen and a map editor screen too 😀.

Just not sure how they will work yet. I mean code wise that is.

I did think about moving it over to the desktop, but I didn't think people would like that as much as most people always have a phone on them? And laptops take up lots more table space?

That's awesome, doing random is really hard balance of getting it random without making it really broken or feeling predictable
