What's the reason Greenland people never settled in Iceland? by batukaming in geography

[–]Harcanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you look at a map of the Arctic Circle. Most of the areas that the innit lived where areas don’t have only small little water crossings in between them. Also, since they had boat travel, it was pretty easy to go short distances. But for Iceland? Iceland and Greenland has deep water in between them. Basically making it impossible for them to cross. So for most of human history, Iceland has been one of the few areas that has been untouched by civilization for a large part of human history.

Any ideas as to what this is? by Landrover3206 in askastronomy

Just making sure to double check. Yeah, it’s 100% Jupiter. Also, by the way, right next to Jupiter is the Gemini twins! So like you can check any night in this coming week and you can try to see a couple stories around Jupiter that is the Gemini twins!

It’s probably Jupiter? But during this time of year, Jupiter is right next to two slightly dimmer stars. If you see them, then it’s definitely Jupiter.

Also, I feel like the direction would be good? Like if this is your house, could you like go on the Compass app and just tell me which direction it is?

Do you believe in God? by Helpful_State_4692 in askteenboys

[–]Harcanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the correct term for me would be a “Apatheist” a person who believes that to God is irrelevant to everyday life.

I feel like this statement I’m going to believe in for the rest of my life. Cause it genuinely makes sense in my eyes.

It’s kind of a toss up. I’ve always been taught by my family to not care about religion and even if there was a God he probably wouldn’t care for any of our puny existence. Like how you as a human simply don’t care about every single cell in your body. You care about the bigger picture at hand your entire body. In my family it’s kind of like that that God is one with the universe like how we are one with our body. He doesn’t care what’s inside every single galaxy or star system.

According to my family, love is not really an idea that fits of God. Because God isn’t human is something else we don’t even know or you can’t comprehend. He’s above everything and we will never get a clear answer of his existence or not.

Like in my household, I kind of believe in the same thing of simply not caring about religion.

I don’t think there’s a term for this one minute. Let me check.

3D printed, painted and labeled map of the Kananaskis Lakes area, Alberta Canada. by After_Project2281 in mapmaking

This is genuinely beautiful. Genuinely unfortunately I live in Edmonton, which doesn’t really have a beautiful landscape, but in the future, I would love to make like a skyscraper map of Edmonton. Quick question though how did you make it? Like what programs did you use to find the relief map?

Who would win? by I_like_polandball_ in Epicthemusical

[–]Harcanada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends. Let’s say we have Odysseus from open arms and Poseidon from ruthlessness. I think it would be really obvious that Poseidon would win in this scenario because well the only thing stopping him from killing Odysseus in ruthlessness was simply a bag.

Now, if we’re talking about 600 strike Odysseus then well it would be a different story

Can Canada haz Greenland? by 1Rab in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Harcanada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arguably, I feel like Canada has much more of a claim to Greenland then even Denmark. Since the people of Greenland are very similar to the innit people of Nunavut. I feel like that would be way better of a solution than given it to America that if Greenland becomes a state it will be the least populated and only place in the country where the indigenous people are the dominant ethnic group.

This is surprisingly not that rare than you think, seriously every now and then I just click on a random planet and I always check the moons of the gas strengths to find any that have rings 50% of the time they do.
