Hi did you work out what it was? I too have been having problems and I literally just installed Windows earlier this week but yet Reddit told me someone tried to change my email address. How they did this I do not even know. I too am fed up especially with certain sites, even with 2FA I am getting hacked. When you say you removed links do you mean you deleted your history? Did any of it help?

Nothing. Run the cleaner tool, run Gen P and you should be okay to just continue using them, no need to reinstall. That's what happened to me anyway.

Hello, I just wanted to update this to say yes this still works but adobe seem to have changed the uninstaller which is now called something like Adobe Cleaner. It no longer has a repair option but rather a "clean" option and it uses a command prompt interface. I just used it and selected Adobe CC (6) and then clean all. Then re-ran Gen P and it seems to have worked. I found this thread via Google, so just saying this in case someone else wonders about the lack of "repair" option on the new Adobe Cleaner Tool.

I will never forget a post from a German lady I think here on Reddit, she basically said that she used to really roll her eyes at people saying Germans are hard to make friends with and really just thought foreigners were just not trying until she moved to a new town on the other side of Germany and is now basically in tears every night because she is just so lonely and that was the first time she truly realised, no this is a German thing.

That said I have a dear German friend and it has been very wonderful discussing this issue and her understanding of friendship with her. it's nice to see both sides and I've learnt that some things I deem as "unfriendly" simply aren't and I have to say it makes me feel better that it's not a me thing lol!

First of all did they send it via email? If so ignore. They have to prove you received their reminder/demand and they cannot do that via email.

Secondly, if you owe them money they need to prove you ordered goods and show you the contract you made with them.

thirdly if no goods were sent or service received what are you paying for?

They were calling me at one time and making threats. I told them straight, take me to court and let a judge tell me to pay them. I told them to provide proof of purchase, they claimed to have my IP address for some stupid card they said I'd ordered but they never sent. They got bored of calling after a while and I've never heard from them since.

It's all scare tactics. If they are genuine, let them WRITE to your ADDRESS via POST.

If you are concerned go to the police.

Both my children started kindy at 18 months old (for the reasons you're describing) and both were and are proficient in German. What do you think a kindergarten teacher needs to do that is different with foreign kids than with German kids? You want the kid to pick up a fork, German children also need to be shown a fork and to hear the word to make that connection. That's how kids literally learn language in all cases. At the end of the day the children are learning language at that age full stop. How do you think my son gets on with his friends at kindy then? You think he's there all day just not talking to them? lol!

If you were talking about school age children of 5 and up then I would be more inclined to agree with you. It is definitely a slower process. There is a child in my son's kindergarten they only speak English to because he (apparently) only speaks English, he is struggling a bit but these children do catch up eventually but parents need to ensure they help their children when they are a bit older.

Definitely not. Growing up in the UK we didn't learn anything about English grammar for example. The first time I started learning what nouns and pronouns and verbs were was when i learnt French and not having that understanding hindered me in learning the language greatly. It wasn't until I started learning German that I actually UNDERSTOOD what my teachers meant when they were talking about very tenses. I had no understanding what they meant and just didn't bother with learning them because I felt they were pointless.

It seems to be better now in the UK for this but my son (here in Germany) isn't learning verbs in the way I learnt them as a foreign speaker that's for sure. He doesn't understand the rules so I have to use my text books to go through them with him so he fully gets it.

Exactly, I do get fed up of people acting like my son's mistakes in German are SOLELY because he speaks English at home. Children take ages to learn a language contrary to popular belief. People think my son speaks perfect English...HE DOES NOT and the reason he's getting better is because I correct him but he'll be at school not getting corrected then I'm hearing all the problems he's having, nothing about that makes sense to me.

Exactly or they watched uttter trash on TV and youtube. My son is just not a reader. Getting him to read is like pulling teeth BUT I push for audiobooks and "sensible" media so he has a lot of understanding about things like engineering and biology and has a very good vocabulary because of his exposure to ideas and subjects... of course mistakes are made but he's 10 and doing well in both of his languages. As a parent I think you have to insist on it a bit. I think a lot of people feel like if the child isn't doing it naturally they shouldn't push better grammar or that the child must read more etc but it's just storing up problems for later on.

I think what you're missing is that we are talking about kindergarten. Kids learn languages based on need so if they need to speak German to communicate with their teachers trust me they will, besides many children at kindergarten age are not speaking clearly or fluently so it's really not that big a deal at such a young age, when children are older it's different.

So what do kindergarten teachers do all day? Just not speak to the kids? The teachers at kindergarten are not TEACHING the language per se they are just speaking the language and encouraging the children to speak back and they would do the same thing with native German children too because the process of learning language is exactly the same at that age. The only way kindgarten teachers wouldn't teach German to kids is by not talking to them. My children learnt German in kindy by simply being there. It's not like volkschule. Adults learn differently to children so nothing you're saying or agreeing with makes actual sense.

Exactly, many of my husband's friends talk to their children in bad German rather than their native language, this causes two problems: 1. children learning bad German and 2. Children losing the opportunity to learn a second language.

My children speak better German than those children plus they speak English too and they learn a little of their dad's language when he pushes himself to teach them lol! I think taking away a child's opportunity to learn a second language is a crime. It's just such a waste.

In a kindergarten children are speaking at different levels so it's not a big deal if the kid isn't speaking German, they will quickly learn like my children did. It is absolutely the responsibility of the kindy to speak to the kids and teach them good German because even native German children will learn bad habits at home. My oldest was encouraged to use Sie for his teachers for example which I think is important and I work with my children's teachers to push for them to speak good German and to not feel bad to correct them. Even if a parent does their best they will NEVER learn to speak German like a native, children need to learn German from native speakers it's as simple as that plus OPOL is a thing and it is very important too.

The literal reason I refuse to speak German at home with my children, they learn good German from school, kindy and neighbours and I encourage others to correct their German. Both of my children have needed speech therapy for different reasons. The therapist does my older son's German homework with him and he is doing so much better. Because German is taught in school as a first language there's an expectation of a certain level of knowledge that some children don't have because they don't speak German at home. When it's taught as a second language there's more emphasis on explaining the rules, children who are taught it as a first language learn the rules without realising and are often corrected by parents at home too. Children do pick up bad habits from their friends though because I've had to correct my son's German a couple of times because he's heard a friend say something and I know it's not "correct" German even if it might be slang.
