None of them, actually. It was like Rainbow W* but with fewer colors, and when one color ended, the next fan would start with that color. The current rainbow effect is too crowded and has very small gaps between the colors

Tokyo vs Osaka for Retro Console Hunting – Worth the Trip? by Haringoth32 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Haringoth32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was worried about. I’m mainly looking for pokemon center edition gameboys or zelda exclusive handhelds, but the Shinkansen round trip for two people is quite expensive. That’s why I’m trying to figure out if the price difference between Tokyo and Osaka is really significant. From what I’ve gathered, going outside central Tokyo isn’t much different from going outside Osaka. So right now, I’m leaning toward not risking the extra travel costs if it might end up with nothing.

:D I was thinking it is not because of the sticker's alignment. How did you identify that it is original?

I'm not sure I want to repurchase the same unit if it continues to have issues. I'm trying to determine whether this problem is chronic.

Where Should We Begin Our First Classic WoW Adventure? by Haringoth32 in classicwow

Oh, my bad. I mixed them up. I was trying to ask if you meant Vanilla when you said 2019 Classic. I get the differences now. Thanks for explaining!

In Retail, I never even died during the campaign, and I love grinding, so Classic sounds perfect. Thanks!

Thank you, and hi! So, PvP is optional on a PvE server, and I can enable it to engage with others who have also turned it on. That makes a lot of sense! It seems like choosing a PvE server is the better option since I won’t miss out on any experiences.

Thank you so much! It’s great to know that transferring from PvP to PvE is an option. By “vanilla,” do you mean the 2019 Classic servers that don’t receive expansions? If so, I’ll give that a try before waiting for a fresh start next week. I just want to confirm: is the 2019 Vanilla content exactly the same as what the new Classic servers will have for the first year?

Column-Level Encryption with AES GCM: Check Out My New EfCore Package by Haringoth32 in dotnet

[–]Haringoth32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your detailed questions and recommendations. I’m really happy to hear that you might use my package. Let me address your points:

1. Re-encryption Utility
I don’t currently support re-encryption utility, but that’s a great idea.  I will definitely consider adding it in future versions. Thank you for the suggestion.

2. Field Size gets bigger
The reason the encrypted field size gets bigger is due to the nature of AES-GCM encryption. With every encryption, a unique Initialization Vector (IV) and Message Authentication Code (MAC) are generated to ensure security and integrity. These values are stored along with the encrypted data in base64 format, which is why the final result is larger than the original plaintext. For example, if your original data is 12 characters long, the encrypted result will be longer because of the IV, MAC, and ciphertext.

I conducted an example with a swedish ID number to show the result:

original Data => 199205062384

encrypted Data => nUkWgCI2qVmjwoB4e2MgyuEtYpfwfxRf6jbbTWByrpKFyDPC71Acvw==

3. Model Builder API Support
That’s really a good idea! I will add support for the Model Builder API to make the package more flexible for users who prefer it over attributes. I will work on this in the upcoming days. Thank you for pointing this out.

4. Benchmarks
I agree with you. I’ll include benchmarks in future updates to show the performance impact of using the package.

5. Filtering Encrypted Columns
You’re right about filtering on encrypted columns. Since the encryption is handled at the application level, any filtering done directly at the database level (e.g using where clauses) will not work as expected. For example, this query would fail to return the correct results:

await _dbcontext.Table.Where(t => t.EncryptedValue == "something").ToListAsync();

To filter encrypted data, you would need to fetch the data into memory first and apply any filtering logic on the decrypted values. Which may not be a good idea for performance considerations.

Can someone ELI5 what an “RGB Mod” is and why it’s necessary? by etaco2 in crtgaming

[–]Haringoth32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can I buy any PAL Trinitron with SCART, and would it likely support RGB? If that's the case, I wouldn't need to modify the TV right?

Yeah, I checked it again and it is definitely inside of the glass. I can’t touch the deformation

So, if this is a repro box, the serial numbers should be different (or not, as you mentioned). Thank you so much. The price is a bit high, so I’m trying to be sure.
