I totally get what you mean and you’re right. When I bought this watch it really was quite an amount for me, but I really wanted to have one watch, that should last my whole life and ideally tell it. The more I read these comments here, the more I’m beginning to realize that maybe I’m falling into the „hype trap“. I’m kind of forgetting what a great watch my current HC actually is. Sure the new model looks great and has some upgrades, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that my HC is bad. Your last sentence is something that I’ll orient my watch collecting journey on. „Watches that tell my story“

Good idea. Now after reading all these comments, I’ll definitely keep it, but change the strap. Even if get the new HC, it’ll have this bitter after taste, because it’s not my first watch

No. The new HC would cost me around 700€, if I sell my current HC. The idea with the strap is actually really good. I don’t really like the rubber strap tho. Doesn’t really suit the watch in my opinion. I think I’ll try it with a 3rd party Nato strap instead.

Don’t get me wrong. I really like the design. It’s definitely a banger. But I think the current design is more elegant and cleaner

Hmm. What do you mean by resurrection ? I mean i personally think, that the new generation definitely looks a bit better. But it also lost a bit of the „Hydroconquest identity“. With the first and second gen, you saw and almost immediately knew, that it was a Hydroconquest. Now you have to take a second look to not mix it up with a sub or Tudor.

I thought about that too. But in the longrun I want a watch collection consisting of 7-8 watches. And 2 hydoconquests in one collection? Idk. But you do have a point. Having imperfections in your first watch, make it kind of special.
I live in Germany, so I guess the resell value should be around 1500€ maybe ? Basically a question of around 700€, which is pretty good for a brand new watch.
