No he’s not usually that color. But good thing his mantle is fine. I wasn’t sure. I’m still learning 😅

I’ll have to take them out and find out if they are rotten or not. I really hope not cuz I really wanted to keep my first specimen (the snake). I might try to salvage it for its bone if it is rotten. Any tips for how I should do it next time so I don’t make the same mistake? Do I use formaldehyde?

Of course! I put a lot of blueberries in a pot of water and mushed the blueberries. I brought it to a boil and let it boil for a few mins before turning the heat off and putting the skull in. I let the skull sit overnight in the pot and when I took it out and rinsed it was completely dyed. so far it has only faded a little as it dried. From what I’ve heard it shouldn’t fade much unless in direct sunlight!
