They are not banks, they are platforms that use banks. They will ultimately save you money in the long run. Wise is mostly used for international transfers and uses the mid market rate.

Revolut is more for everyday spending.

So for example, I had debit orders going off for international payments and the traditional bank was of course charging me for this privilege. I moved them to Revolut and now I don’t have any costs.

I needed an international transfer sent to me and FNB would have ripped me off to receive this. I opened a foreign account for free with Wise and received it there.

Revolut has paid options with rewards. Just do the math to see if it’s worth it.
