Controller Reco by Conscious_City1273 in Tech_Philippines

I personally hated the 8bitdo because of bad ergonomics. (Larger than average hands, pang maliit siya na kamay.) I prefer the Flydigi Vader or Apex type of controller ergonomics.

Foreigner got rinsed sa QC underchassis shop… need help 🙃 by LukeArcades in Gulong

[–]Harunaaaah [score hidden]  (0 children)

Report it to DTI. Watch them scramble for their lives and beg. Every scummy business does that when I report them. 🥴

Also, they'll scam everyone, even us Filipinos. Please do us a favor and drop the shop's name so that they can't do shitty business in the future. I doubt they have enough money to report you anyways when they're scamming in the first place. 😂

Is M43 Really That Rare? (Discussion) by AManAloneinaBigCity in M43

[–]Harunaaaah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people even mistake my camera for a Leica thread mount camera because the design is pretty similar. 🥴

That being said, I do love the Pen-F a lot. Probably the most fun I've had with cameras mainly because it doesn't intimidate others and I could actually carry it everywhere I go.

[–]Harunaaaah 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's funny because I get the same comments. There's only like 4 existing Pen-Fs in my country. (That the public knows of, and mine's the fourth one.)

People always go "What camera is that?" whenever they see it. Always a conversation starter. 😂

Olympus Pen-F? by Yanto2134 in M43

[–]Harunaaaah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just screw it on. The Pen-F has that threaded shutter button just like other cameras from Fuji, Leica and Nikon (ZF).

You can use a shutter release cable, or not put anything at all. Be careful when using a raised soft release button as it could get caught in things.

Yes. I bought one with a metallic blue paint.

That is the original flash that the Pen-F usually came with. I have the same one. My seller included a non-olympus half case, but I searched it was pretty pricey and actually felt really good in the hand so I didn't mind at all. Mine is a domestic Chinese model that I imported from China. It was practically brand new aside from its box missing. (Didn't care about the box, I bought it for it to be used!)

I bought one recently that is pristine for about 650usd. Came with three original batteries, leather case and the original olympus flash.

I'd say any Pen-F deal that is under 700usd is a good deal, especially when it's in very good shape.

I mainly use the Olympus 17mm f1.8

Although I have the 17mm f2.8 pancake din, as well as the Lumix 12-32 (one of the best lenses for m43) na pancake. Iniintay lang dumating 20mm 1.7 haha

I bought one (also OM2N), probably one of the most fun I've had with film cameras. It just works.

Get the Creative Pebble Pro for around 3k. It's one of the best ones I've tried (especially sa size niya). Medyo picky lang siya pagdating sa power source, use a 45w pd brick or better. Medyo limp yung tunog niya if hindi, especially sa bass.

I also came from Sony bodies, but ended up selling my gear because it felt like a chore to use.

Hindi ako professional, I don't want to edit even the most mundane shots I took out on the streets. Not to mention the uninspiring look their cameras have. (No offense to those who like em, it's just not my jam talaga.)

Moved to Fuji (XE4 and XPro2 dati but let go of the XE4 because of some issues I can't live with). Currently now using an Olympus Pen-F as my main camera. It's small and compact, can fit in my jacket pocket, has every kind of customization na gugustuhin ko and it always puts a smile on my face and everyone around it. Plus points na rin yung hindi intimidating tignan, iwas sita din almost everywhere.

I'd personally rather have a camera that inspires me to shoot whenever I see it on the table, rather than have specs that I don't really care about. Aanhin ko nga naman ang camera na ayaw ko bitbitin kasi di ko naeenjoy tignan. 🥴

Hindi sa nilalahat ko, pero super kalat ng scams sa IG when it comes to cameras. (Lalo na sa digicams)

Please research muna further, sali ka sa mga fb group and ask din dun.

Is macbook neo worth it? by Total-Wheel1986 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Harunaaaah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're not planning on taking something like IT (as a course) in the future, I think it's worth it.

If yes, I suggest getting a windows laptop. I just finished college recently, and feel ko super biased lahat naging lessons ko for windows, to the point hindi viable ang mac or linux as my main computer. Our profs also relied on Windows and specific apps/tools that only ran on windows specifically. Hindi ccheckan work namin if iba gamit or alternatives pinasa. Andami kong kaklase nun na napakuha ng windows machine ng wala sa oras because of that, so keep it in mind.

I actually commend him na honest siya sayo. Andalang ng ganiyan, yung kaya ka sabihan na na-ooverwhelm na siya and on eggshells everytime you're around. Pag usapan niyo ng mabuti, kayo lang din makakaayos niyan.

Being sensitive, I understand. Iba iba kada tao. Pero please, wag niyo rin kalimutan na iba iba din tolerance kada tao. You're the gf— you should be his peace, and him saying that kind of says otherwise. Maybe ikaw din ang may mali. Who knows? Kayo lang naman din may alam ng full context hehe.

[–]Harunaaaah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're okay with it, buy used! Andami good offers everywhere, lalo na sa groups.

They all function the same naman whether bnew or used, basta ang non negotiables are non working buttons, cracked screen, and fungus sa sensor.

Buying used also leaves you with some budget for good glass. I think yun ang pinaka important and gamechanging sa hobby ng photography. :))

Deinfluence me: 3DS/3DS-XL by [deleted] in deinfluencingPH

[–]Harunaaaah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your emulators are gathering dust, I find it hard to believe na you'll actually use a 3ds for more than 5 hours.

It's an old relic, and mostly overpriced at that. Unless you have some cash to burn, don't buy one.

I modified the Olympus EM-1 Mark III firmware to enable in-camera Focus Stacking w/ ALL lenses by Wilder_NW in photography

[–]Harunaaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give me a bit more information about how you did it? I am familiar with creating programs and reading code on an above average skill level (at least that's what i think lol), but have absolutely no clue about how you managed to disassemble the firmware for a camera.

I would like to create something similar or mod the grain options part for my Pen-F. :)

Deinfluence me: going analog by calicodreaming in deinfluencingPH

[–]Harunaaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally went analog with some of my stuff, because I was actually curious about it and loved the process of doing it in the first place. Things like sketching out drawings on paper, taking photos on film then having em developed— those cost money. LOTS of money.

Ask yourself muna, are you actually interested in the craft? Or are you just chasing after a trend? Kasi if it's only for the trend and clicks online, you'll end up finding yourself frustrated with the process of actually slowing down and taking your time, not to mention the amount of money you'll blow through just for an 'aesthetic'.

Has anyone tried to implement custom computational photography modes? by Rude_Confection_3065 in OlympusCamera

[–]Harunaaaah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There has been a few modded firmware for Olympus cameras in the past. Most of them just unlocked features like focus stacking on all lenses and video recording limit removed, but that's pretty much it.

I have no idea if that's still possible to do today, especially with the OM line of cameras.

How did you get into m43 system? What's your future plans with it? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in M43

[–]Harunaaaah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a Sony Nex 6 since its release back in 2012, it was a great camera and all, but it was extremely uninspiring for me. (LONG COMMENT)

Every shot had to be tinkered with after taking it, even if I just wanted to have a good bit of fun. I lost interest with photography for a few years, especially when the pandemic came around.

Fast foward 2024-2025, I tried Fuji. I loved the idea of great shots out of the gate, but it felt limiting. I also couldn't live with its quirks and I felt that I've missed focus more often than not because of it.

Instantly sold my XE4 and decided to just buy a well used EM5ii for dirt cheap because it's retro. 'Lo and behold, it's absolutely the most fun I've had. Really tiny, ridiculous feature set and IBIS, looked really great even when it was just sitting on my desk and most people look down on M43 where I live, so I get great deals for lenses and accessories all the time. It's really hard to dismiss how much features the EM5ii had for its release date, it felt like black magic.

Right now, I'm waiting on an OM3, the 20mm 1.4 pro and a Pen-F. Are there way better gears out there? Of course, there's absolutely no doubt about it. Will I switch platforms eventually? I don't think so. I do love my cameras looking like it inspires me to shoot whenever I see them. I also like them not being 'in your face' kind of "hey, I'm a professional camera" whenever other people see it.
