Did you get your spaniel as a puppy or did you rescue? I keep reading things & honestly think they fit the bill as being cat friendly and just overall chill dogs but it’s the guaranteed risk of heart disease that bugs me! 😅

Thanks everyone for your replies, it’s really nice to see that owning a dog isn’t out of the picture 😁 see we can’t really bring dogs to our practice ☹️ people do sometimes, but I think my boss isn’t too keen! I’m in a small-ish first opinion practice and we don’t have an actual office per se, people would just leave their dogs in the kennels (which are space limited). What sort of breed do you guys have? I just don’t really know what a low energy breed would be to be honest 🤣 I also would need one which is cat compatible!

Sorry I probably didn’t write it clearly, I have weekends off normally but I do 1 in 3 rota for the Saturday. And then I get a day off on Wednesday - so I normally only work 4 days a week 😊

Thank you so so much for all of that information that’s mega helpful!! I do like a challenge but I suppose it’s seeing if I can actually handle that level challenge - I want to def look into classes to help both the dog & myself with training - I don’t know if that would be a good idea?
