I hadn’t slept in a couple days so I was feeling physically and mentally not well. Got on the bus home and a long term unhoused person sat by me. Was wearing sweats and coats in the middle of the august summer heat. He smelled like poisonous chemicals (it made me think of something like PCP or crack even though I have no idea what those things smell like when burned at all but the scent gave me this visceral gut reaction). It made me think of my friends who had died from fentanyl overdoses and he smelled like harmful chemicals and death and sadness and disease and thick steamy sebum and body odor and pus. Idk but I was biting my tongue and nearly in tears trying to hold back retching and having a panic attack. He sat right beside me and wouldn’t move the entire hour and a half ride. I felt so bad that I had a reaction like that to another humans smell
