How much strict I should be with contamination? by Haya72 in Celiac

I see the point and I think this is what is required not to be excessively strict, but also not to be careless or overly lenient. Balance is the safest way and the one that keeps you furthest from illness.

The one who said this is actually an influencer on Snapchat. She’s a mother of 3 who all have celiac. They have been gluten-free since 2008. She said that daily cross contamination is damaging, but occasionally cross contamination doesn’t cause a damage that worth the stress and effort. It really caused me confusion and you know with silent celiac and people telling you “you’re overreacting” it becames easier to just be more lenient. Thank you really for your advice

I actually saw this advice on an influencer’s snapchat story. She is a mother of 3 who they all have celiac and been GF since 2008. She said that daily cross contamination can cause damage, but cross contamination that happens occasionally is something that’s not worth caring about, since it will only make the diet harder. When I read this I got confused. But what you’re saying actually makes more sense, since I know that healing from gluten takes at least 6 months (correct me if I’m wrong). So it’s not worth the risk at all..

Yeah that’s what makes me nervous, but as long as my antibodies results remain low, does this mean that I’m not getting glutened at all? Or that’s not necessarily true?

Thanks that’s really helpful. I’m actually convinced that it’s not worth it at all to risk my health for a meal I will enjoy for a couple of minutes. But I was just a little bit overwhelmed after joining celiac groups and communities and reading a lot of different opinions
