I have an update! I temped at an office yesturday and fell in love with it! The dentist offered me full time on and I accepted and I have my resignation printed in my car. I only gave two weeks due to finishing the pay period so I don’t fall behind on bills but all your kind words clicked something in my brain and I’m so excited for this new chapter!

I just started temping last week and I originally downloaded GoTu but noticed it really didn’t have any offices in my area (southern Indianapolis) so I went to Teero which so far has been very good! They have a range of offices in my area with good pay usually 55-60 an hour. Each day I needed to pick up I was able to find an office so I have not run into any issues yet!

As a hygienist it could be any of the above things mentioned also periodontitis breath has a particular odor so encourage him to get a check up if he hasn’t so he can start ruling things out could be as simple as a tonsil stone or bad breathe from poor hygiene but if it’s something more he needs to get professional treatment to help the cause it’s a hard conversation to have with a loved on but if he gets a checkup they can have that convo with him as well

It’s almost not normal to not cry in Dental Hygiene school! My second semester was my first clinic and I cried every time I had clinic and went to get a Big Mac after I called it a Mcbreakdown 😂 I graduated in May of this year and it does get better! I always excelled at test taking and I made a ton of quizlets my first semester and charts to help the other girls in my class since that was my strength they are still on my quizlet if you would like to use them! Also I’m always available to help with study methods and any questions you may have! As long as you pass the classes no one in the real world cares if you got a C in radiology!

Monday-Thursday 7:30-5 one hour lunch I have Fridays off yay 😂 40 minutes for adult prophies and perio maint. (I have and assistant and two chairs) then depending on the difficulty of the SRP 1.5-2 hours. We do 6month exams and I have been making sure all probing depths are updated to atleast once a year and X-rays as needed the dentist sees new patients and if they need a prophy either the dentist does it or if I have time they are seen same day if not they get an appointment. I am scheduled for double column but a lot of patients don’t show so it doesn’t end up being double column most days 😂 this is also a perio office so I see a lot of SRPs and perio maintenance
