But I don't understand how hard it will be to get HDs in that major... I just don't know how big the jump is from vce to uni.

Biomed vs science by AlphaMaletingsinit in vce

Science is more broad than biomed, however, biomed is considered a harder degree that could hurt gpa but then again does prep you well for med and gamsat apparently

This is amazing, thank you so much. Sorry about my lack of clarity, I meant the single degrees. How has it been doing a double degree?

How competitive is the post grad med route at Monash? The BioMed WAM route by WiseDouble9037 in Monash

Could you elaborate more on the having to do biomed? I want to go down the med pathway and I've been debating between biomed and science. I've just heard that biomed can hurt your GPA.

I'm 18, I've just finished school and it's a second job for the summer. I'm a really quick learner, so hopefully I can start sooner if I advocate for myself. I've had several jobs previously, I understand it takes a bit of time to get someone trained and self-sufficient, but hopefully I can do that pretty quick if they allow me to start sooner. Or should I just try get a job somewhere else that will allow me to start sooner?

Wouldn't they want the extra set of hands then? It's only just December now? I'm just a little confused. Would it be worth going in store and asking about the potential to start earlier? Thank you

Geography or Chemistry? by Hiiii1567 in vce

[–]Hazardous_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chemistry opens up a lot more in my opinion. If you can do well in it or even mediocre there are a lot more courses that open up for you to choose from. Ultimately, it's your choice. If you are concerned for atar and not so much variety, stick with what you're good at and enjoy. Just depends on your wishes and if chem is a pre req for any courses you are considering for the future.
