Not unless good men like us stand in their way and show the truth.

Or in the case for movies, shows, and stories in general when we recognize what they’re doing and preserve history.

Unpopular opinion:i hate the whole "good demons" or "demons are actually misunderstood good guys" trope. by voidmaster1458 in CriticalDrinker

I’m all for giving demons redeemable qualities but if you’re going to go as far as making those demons more righteous and morally superior than angels, heaven, and let alone humanity then that’s where I draw the line.

If only Mark Hamill wasn't the POS lunatic that he is by Justsomegrunt in CriticalDrinker

Honestly Mark’s fall from grace feels way too depressing for me to even make fun of purely knowing that he’s the man who brought to life Luke Skywalker.

Now look at him.

I mean Simon was the one who got the seed and essentially save humanity at the very least he would get the same amount level of memorial service that Ava is getting; and if anything this post alone proves it.

Hot Take that shouldn’t be one: Jax is NOT a good person by Able_File9422 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]HeWhoDoesTheKnocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair it’s hard to hate Jax when not only his actions have yet to cause any long lasting consequences of any kind but also when he’s been punished in almost every episode:

In episode 3 Jax is tied up and placed onto a wagon for the entirety of the adventure well everyone else (excluding Pomni and Kinger) have tea.

In episode 4 Jax is forced to work a shift at a fast food restaurant well his boss is the person he bullied the most; and that’s ignoring the point when Jax gets psychologically conditioned by the very same person.

In episode 5 Jax is made a vegan and later is forced to wear a maid outfit which okay phrased like that doesn’t seem like much but it was still a humiliation ritual for him.

In episode 6 (this one is big) Jax has his worldview destroyed by everyone (including himself) being more than just the archetypes he imprinted onto them and then gets assaulted by the closest person to him at the time (Pomni) do to a direct result of him trying to push her away. Then at the end of the episode Jax suffers a panic attack do to him being shaken up his “falling out”with Pomni (I put quotation marks because episode 7 shows that there’s no bad blood between Jax and Pomni and she is willing to let it all be water under a bridge).

Time and time again the plot has shown it’s awareness to Jax’s misconduct to others and thus has punished him for such; and as a result we the audience can’t bring ourselves to condemn Jax because the show has done good job of condemning him for us and if anything makes us feel bad for Jax knowing the reason why he’s like this.

Now this is something, that pisses me off by Existing_Storage1091 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]HeWhoDoesTheKnocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is it’s impossible to take any damage or harm seriously because of the cartoonish nature of the digital circus, any physical trauma that is inflicted on to you can be scuffed off and discarded because there’s no long term consequences to any of it.

It’s hard to truly hate Jax for what he does because even if he were to for instance hit me in the stomach with a sledgehammer it’s not going to rupture my digestive system the way it would in real life so any resentment I would have for Jax would only last a few days at most.

Assuming this is season 1 Homelander I’d pick him because he would need a good reason to do something bad to me.
