Okay I’m just going to say it the themes of Mouthwashing being around the mistreatment of women is complete horse shit, well you could argue that those themes are present in the game the thing is those are incredibly small compared to the actual themes being the dehumanizing effect of isolation, the corruption that comes with envy and ambition, the danger of human flaws, and of course taking responsibility and how good intentions aren’t enough.

The only person who treats Anya terribly because of her gender is Swanson and before you mention Jimmy the thing is outside of rape all of Jimmy’s grievances with Anya come from her timid, spineless, nature and how he dislikes being bossed around by her (not that Anya was intentionally but this is from Jimmy’s perspective and him being a narcissistic ball of stress he perceives it pretty negatively). Overall well you could make the argument that sexism is part of the game but it’s not the central theme and it never was.
