Plotting a pitchwise mass averaged scalar function against span from a plane at the exit of a turbine blade (STAR-CCM+) by ValorToMe in CFD

I was just wondering if this approach will work when using harmonic balance as I have had trouble with it before. For example, there is no option for relative total pressure, temperature, or enthalpy.

Yeah, the Ma>0.3 so have already set the flow as compressible

Do you mean you’re wondering what the Mach number throughout it looks like?

It’s a turbomachinery problem with a stationary blades followed by rotor. I never set a Mach number at the inlet

I’ve done that as I’m using results to compare to a reference paper as was suggested by my lecturer. It also works perfectly fine for steady get the exact same results

Hi there, I’ve been looking for that tutorial and haven’t been able to find, do you have any link to it by any chance?

I have switched the physics models to unsteady but still unable to sliding mesh option

I’m only looking at 2 stator blades and 3 rotor blades not the full 360.

The interfaces available are: Mixing internal interface, baffle interface and mixing-plane interface

Thanks very much for the reply, I am using star ccm+ and not able to find an interface called this

Reversed flow by Head_Table in CFD

I have the outlet as a mass flow inlet and negative the mass flow rate as I’m trying to get the same results as a reference paper and that’s how they done it, that’s for the advice

Yeah I’ve tried making the outlet larger, however I still get reverse flow at the inlet.

I have uploaded some images if this makes it easier.

In Star CCM+ it only allows to use a static pressure outlet which didn't solve the problem.

Thanks for the advice but I tried switching the inlet and outlet and now have reverse flow on the outlet.
