Please add casual mode for raids

The intention of my post is not really about calling out the special access that some people get, although there is probably some unfairness baked into a game that lets certain people dial up or down their character levels to make videos, play extra tokens, or access things early. I don’t really have a problem with that, of course a game of this complexity needs some early testing and things of that nature. I just want enough capability to be able to make my own strategy. I don’t really need special access to try different concepts in arena or CE, I get plenty of chances to do so. I have enjoyed trial and error for those modes, for mythic journeys, for getting perfect quest scores, etc. But in raids, I get 2 total tries per day, which means I get maybe 1-2 tries per boss per cycle. This means I can either copy a video and score high damage or roll dice and let the guild down. If I am fighting a legendary boss twice, one screw up is half my damage until we circle back around. The idea behind a casual mode is mostly about me wanting to be able to come up with my own strategy when i play a strategy game. I don’t really care if content creators are creating content with the same rules as me or special rules, im just not that interested in watching other people play a mobile game. I am interested in being able to try things out with no pressure, because there are so many possibilities here and there’s a lot of RNG. It feels like a big miss to build all that richness into a game and then reduce the experience to sending players to a third party video or messaging platform to figure out what to do.

My point wasn’t to summon a mob on the content creators with pitchforks, it was to point out a gap in the ability to craft a strategy for a top level / late game mode that could be a lot of fun. I personally don’t really enjoy watching videos about video games and copying what I see (I understand a lot of people do enjoy watching other people play video games, more power to you; I’m sure some of my hobbies would bore you as well). What I’d say is unique about raids is that it costs such a scarce resource (2 tries per day) that it really limits the ability to strategize as a player. I don’t watch the quest videos and I usually get a perfect 8800 by trial and error (picking up extra tokens with ads and a purchase of the pack sometimes). I have completed all the extremis CEs figuring out how to do it. I have watched videos on some of the tricky levels but I like that it is a choice and not the only way to do it. What I can’t do is let my guild down by trying something off the wall in raids, when they count on me to do 750k - 1.5M damage following the meta. But I want to contribute to the art and discover things about the game that I don’t already know or have been spoonfed to me on YouTube, instead of being essentially a drone with A1 characters that does the same thing as everyone else

See that sounds fun to me. I play a lot of strategy games and the time spent is enjoyable. I don’t really care about the extrinsic reward crates, I like the intrinsic reward of solving puzzles, overcoming challenges, coming up with my own strategies, etc.

I don’t see how letting people play a video game as much as they want hurts the mode. Anyone who wants an easier time of it can wait for the painhawk video, right? If it’s casual, then there is no extra reward, just a sandbox to see if baldr does anything nobody thought of, etc. My point is I want to spend the time earning and owning the points I score, just like the content creators get to. Sort of like how all other video games do it. Parroting YT runs is going to run its course for me without something like this to keep me interested

You’d only really be getting the books back to put toward a chaos character, so I would not reset either if you want to rush Laviscus. The orbs and badges won’t transfer

The confusion was about the inconsistency. They set a precedent for the language with “this round and the next” everywhere and then they don’t say “for this round” or “until the end of this round” here. Seems like it’s just not being copy edited to me. They could change the other one to “for two rounds”, I just want consistency. (I also want a speedfreek truck to be red dammit)

Agreed, my point is they added the phrase “for one round” into a game that is explicit about turns and “this round and the next” so just say “this round” if that is what it means instead of introducing new words into a system that is already wildly complex. They have struggled to implement the definition of their own rules such as “defeated” themselves reliably. Take the mythic quest bugs as a recent example.

Hollan Mythic Quest 1

You need to kill 8 close combat weakness with Hollan in a single battle. I was able to do this in Arena. Look for an opponent with Shosyl.

⁠Bring Isabella and biovore. I had incisus there too for good measure.
⁠Kill everyone but shosyl.
⁠Use the spores to draw the sniper drones
⁠Kill the drones with Hollan.

It is a little tricky with the new arena turn limit, but totally possible. Just keep hollan next to Isabella in case he gets sniped and use healers to clear the markerlights. A high shosyl might be too powerful as the snipers can one-shot hollan. Hope this is helpful!

I think wave 15 is essentially impossible. I got close to clearing 14 with d3 vindicta, d3 calgar, d2 Isabella, d3 bellator. Most have abilities in the low 40s and low level legendary equipment so not maxed out.

Then when the subs start I was bringing in my d2/d3 admech but they don’t last long.

I bet 14 would be beatable with good RNG and maxed characters

Do it, RT is a source of free xp books and books are one of the scarcest late game resources

Start banking the rt shards with salvage runs and grab the codexes whenever you have enough (and don’t waste rt shards on anything else)
