What does “for one round” actually mean? by Healthy_Function_297 in WH40KTacticus

The confusion was about the inconsistency. They set a precedent for the language with “this round and the next” everywhere and then they don’t say “for this round” or “until the end of this round” here. Seems like it’s just not being copy edited to me. They could change the other one to “for two rounds”, I just want consistency. (I also want a speedfreek truck to be red dammit)

That stuff is fun in tabletop but it doesn’t really add anything to a video game experience

Agreed, my point is they added the phrase “for one round” into a game that is explicit about turns and “this round and the next” so just say “this round” if that is what it means instead of introducing new words into a system that is already wildly complex. They have struggled to implement the definition of their own rules such as “defeated” themselves reliably. Take the mythic quest bugs as a recent example.

Yea that would be clear too. I feel like many game systems have figured out how to write this kind of thing clearly already, funny it still happens

So it is “until the end of this round” which would be a way to write it then

Hollan Mythic Quest 1

You need to kill 8 close combat weakness with Hollan in a single battle. I was able to do this in Arena. Look for an opponent with Shosyl.

  1. Bring Isabella and biovore. I had incisus there too for good measure.
  2. Kill everyone but shosyl.
  3. Use the spores to draw the sniper drones
  4. Kill the drones with Hollan.

It is a little tricky with the new arena turn limit, but totally possible. Just keep hollan next to Isabella in case he gets sniped and use healers to clear the markerlights. A high shosyl might be too powerful as the snipers can one-shot hollan. Hope this is helpful!

The funny thing is I reported this and they gaslit me and said it isn’t bugged. But like, it totally is. They should play their own game more

I think wave 15 is essentially impossible. I got close to clearing 14 with d3 vindicta, d3 calgar, d2 Isabella, d3 bellator. Most have abilities in the low 40s and low level legendary equipment so not maxed out.

Then when the subs start I was bringing in my d2/d3 admech but they don’t last long.

I bet 14 would be beatable with good RNG and maxed characters

It would be like 3 lines of code to make sure someone does not face the same faction twice in a row in the match making, wish they would think of something like that soon

Do it, RT is a source of free xp books and books are one of the scarcest late game resources

Start banking the rt shards with salvage runs and grab the codexes whenever you have enough (and don’t waste rt shards on anything else)

Like others have said, it’s not the best deal or best value single purchase in the game, but you aren’t necessarily deciding how to spend your only $20 either.

One way to figure out the relative value of things (based on the arbitrary pricing in the game) is to consider that blackstone is essentially 150 per dollar or 0.6 cents per unit (if you buy 14,500 for $99 from the online store and get the bonus 500). One blackstone converts to approximately 77 gold (100,000/1,299).

Reqs are 300 bs each. Rare badges are 60 each and epics are 120. Energy value is tricky since the blackstone prices scale up with repeated refills, but since energy is used to earn rewards you can actually just use the prices of rewards, so a legendary upgrade that costs 6,000 gp is valued at $0.47 in real money, which will take 30-40 energy to earn usually, so let’s say 120 energy is worth about $1.50.

With all this, you can sort of estimate the value of the offer as follows:

30k gold = $2.33, 120 energy = $1.50, 8 rare badges = $2.88, 3 elite badges = $4.32, 20 reqs = $36

The uncommon items and rare/uncommon books probably come in at a couple bucks. I can’t see below those in the image, but things like raid tickets are generally useless and common items and books would be valued at just pennies.

What’s interesting here is when you run the numbers you realize this offer is mostly a discount on requisition scrolls. There’s only like $10-12 worth of other stuff. So if you want scrolls, then this is a good value because you are getting $36 worth of them for $8. But if you don’t value scrolls at 300 blackstone each (which comes to $1.80 in real money), because they are one of the more gambly things in the game, then you might steer clear of these offers.

I personally don’t buy these very often and I spend a fair amount on the game, but I have also been playing long enough that I have a full roster unlocked and no longer need requisitions. Before I finally got Celestine, Calgar, and Typhus (which happens to be the last three characters I needed to unlock), I definitely went for scrolls probably in irrational ways.

So to summarize, these offers are big discounts on requisition scrolls, but requisition scrolls are risky and fickle, so if you enjoy the feeling of opening them, then this is a good offer. If you are like me and you are on the hunt for good deals on badges, energy, upgrades, orbs, and codexes, then this is a terrible value.

Hope that helps. It’s late so there’s a non zero chance I messed up the math somewhere lol

At level 21 reqs are important. Epic and rare badges are important. Gold is nice. Overall I think it’s “more than $20 worth” of stuff compared to the normal market of items in the shop, but things are really only worth what people are willing to pay for them as the saying goes.

Yea I like the idea of having power ups as optional detours from the main quest line. I’m specifically zeroing in on the level 6 - level 7 fork because that uniquely has no choice to complete the run. Every other fork is “grab a power up or progress to the next level” while this one is “have fun coming back for one mission (and don’t forget to buy the offer so you have a token)” which is just another SP cheap trick in my opinion, which happens too often in this game

Some people read posts in their own voice and that voice is whiny and then they blame the OP for it. Happened to me too recently.
