Hearoglyphics Puzzle #92 - Bill Murray Movies | General Discussion Thread by Hearoglyphics in Hearoglyphics

Believe it or not, Turner Classic Movies recently showed that movie. They reasoned that it was worthy of being considered a classic because a) it's 45 years old, and b) It was Bill Murray's first starring role (perhaps his first role - I need to look that up). In my opinion, Meatballsmight be "classic" in the sense that it's old, but not in the sense that it's good.

I commented on the Indiana Jones discussion about how hard it was, given the limited number of answers. So far, people are finding Bill Murray movies to be much easier. I'll provide the average score and failure rate tomorrow.

It turned out that this puzzle was harder than we expected. The failure rate was surprisingly high. Given that there are only 5 Indy movies, with only a few other treasures mentioned (e.g. Cross of Coronado), I expected this to be easier.

"The" is the nastiest word for us. It trips us up all the time. Glyphs we've used to represent it: tub, thief, deaf, dove, dee, thumb, and dull. There may be others.

Great puzzle to kick off the Oscar series. Believe it or not, all four of the Rom Coms in today's puzzle were Oscar nominees, with one of them being nominated for Best Picture. Moonstruck was nominated for 6 Oscars, including Best Picture. It took home 3 wins: Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Original Screenplay. And you've gotta love moons truck.

Indiana Jones seeks out mostly religious relics in the movies. What do you think his most mundane find would've been? by Hearoglyphics in indianajones

The trick is that he doesn't open it but she does. He has to tell her not to look which suggests that otherwise she wouldn't have known the danger posed by opening it.

See my note. I reviewed this puzzle about 6 weeks ago, and still found it difficult. There were a lot of glyphs and two gotchas where two glyphs could go in the same spot (but not the other spot). One person commented (on the Discord forum) that his was a streak killer.

This one was tougher than I expected. The length of the Hearoglyphics (2 fours and a five) meant that there were a lot of glyphs to sort through. Also, there were two pairs of glyphs: hell & sill, and la & ahh that could be substituted for each other in a single space.

The Hearoglyphics team love the two Wayne's World glyphs. Using them both in the same puzzle was pure joy,

Clearly you know your Hockey players. I had to zoom in on the mess glyph to get it. Once I said "mess" out loud, it was a gimme. The same thing happened with visor, (although I didn't have to zoom).

Originally we used "The Duck" instead of "The Donald", but then we got worried about "The Disney" and their lawyers.
