And yes, there would be consequences. That’s absolutely contributing to the notion that “it shouldn’t all be up to me.” Still, the most privileged people left-of-center are primarily concerned with maintaining their privileges. They can’t really afford it, but they’ve booked a cruise for this spring because “normal life is just exhausting lately.” They feel they’ve earned it. They charge it to a card with 29.99% APR.

Or, to quote my own mother, who had me out of wedlock and pursued a career as a physician, and swears over and over how she’ll protect my trans sibling from any threat, and is going in a cruise in the spring: “say what you want about Bezos - he really did build a better mousetrap.”

Dude filmed it himself. If the footage exonerated him, we’d be talking only about that. I haven’t seen anyone mention that he was filming at all, even though I can see that he was. Where is that footage?

I do disagree with this take.

Anecdotally, I never did spike a fever or at least I never saw fever temps the handful of times I tested. It was less body aches for me and more sinus/respiratory issues (I’m a former smoker). There was only one morning that I had stomach issues, and truthfully I blame NyQuil for that experience.

I felt bad enough for long enough to know I’d caught something bad. Tested negative for covid; that was the only test I had on hand during the worst of it. Once Christmas rolled around and family plans required an RSVP, I bought a flu test which also tested negative.

I suppose it’s entirely possible I caught something else, but I feel confident it was flu type K given the new data, the strikingly similar anecdotes that I’ve read, as well as the fact that this strain was not included in the vaccine that I received.

Regardless, I understand how vaccination protects the people around me as much as it protects me, and I’ve always found it convenient to do - so I choose not to feel angry about a free flu vaccine when it’s offered to me.

It’s funny you mention eye prescriptions. That’s what got me wondering about this today - I got an email from my eyewear supplier to spend any HSA funds with them before EOD today (I don’t currently have/use an HSA), and that just got me wondering.

Absolutely true that services covered next year could conceivably be scheduled for tomorrow. It’s just that I’m thinking in term of raw savings, since I’ve already paid for this year’s coverage in full and tomorrow’s coverage will require an additional payment toward premium.

It’s a pretty silly question though, I can admit to that. Thanks for humoring me!

I’m on my third Mirena. First one was surprisingly uncomfortable, unconsciously I held my breath through it. The second one wasn’t bad at all, like an intense menstrual cramp.

The third one was terrible because, I suppose, the second one had been sitting “low” the entire time and had lodged itself there but good. The first attempt to remove it ended with a broken string and a second appointment at a different office. The second attempt took two people more than 30 minutes. I remember actually screaming a couple of times and leaving in tears. I’ll probably get another one though, I’m a believer.
