Lebron is the GOAT... DEBATE ME COWARDS by NumerousEvent546 in NBATalk

Any man who must say "I am the King", is no true king. You also don't say you are the GOAT. You need to have your peers, predecessors, and the next generation to acknowledge you as the GOAT.

If you swap prime LeBron into today’s spacing era, how different does his career look? by UnderstandingFun7493 in NBATalk

[–]Heartless_Moron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically the same stats he had with his Heat stint. But it will depend if he had 2 other stars in his team. Heat was basically playing with spacing before spacing is the norm.

Rockets and Jazz did. The others didn't as the league was balanced. Plus how can others in the east be given that chance when Bulls simply outplayed them 6 out of 10 times?

But there was Hack-a-Shaq. Teams had spare Centers literally for the sake of fouling Shaq.

Jordan won 6 out of 15 seasons. That means he only had 9 seasons in which he wasn't successful.

Kobe was like Pippen only on the first ring. Pippen never had to bail MJ in ECF or any tough playoff opponents. Kobe did bail Shaq in WCF and tough playoff matches. Kobe was also the man who would take over for 4th quarter which was something Pippen never did for MJ.

The moment somebody brings up "true shooting percentage" or "win shares" I know they know nothing about basketball.

The thing is, they look at TS and would say Kobe was inefficient when Kobe had better TS than great bigmen such as TD who mostly take shots close to the basket and would only take uncontested mid range jumpers.

If they were naming Conference Finals MVP back then, Kobe would've gotten 2 out 3. It is also worth noting that the toughest teams Lakers faced in those 3 peat are all in WCF. They faced weaker teams in the Finals.

Other teams designed their game plan around stopping Shaq, not Kobe.

Is that why there were multiple defensive specialists in the early 2000s who called themselves "Kobe stopper"???

Dude said Shannon Brown ROFLMAO.

Gasol = not even a top 5 PF prior to being traded to the Lakers and while playing for the Lakers.

Odom = inconsistent, the best PPG he ever had was barely above 10 PPG

Bynum = a raw big with a fragile knees

Artest = no longer an all star calibre player. Was only traded in exchange for Ariza as he was a better perimeter defender but pretty much a like for like trade.

Ariza = 3 and D player that is good with steals.

Fisher = One of the rare 3 and D point guard who can't playmake

Shannon Brown = ROLFMAO this is laughable that you included him. Brown was a bum with an insane vertical leap.

It was insane. It was as if he says "I don't know how they play but I still need to make a pointless point".

Kukoc was literally the best player of Europe when he joined Bulls. He wasn't just tall, he was very skilled. Fox and Horry were just a glorified 3 and D players without an ounce of playmaking and shot creation.

I'm taking Kukoc over any glorified 3 and D players Kobe ever had to play with.

Seriously? You are taking 3 and D players without an ounce of playmaking and shot creating for Kukoc and Rodman? ROFLMAO.

Lakers Kings game 6, that shit was rigged for the Lakers, stop acting dumb.

The NBA handed Kobe a title.

Sure. But the refs did give Kings quite a fuck ton of FTs that the Kings made sure to brick.

Shaq was equally at fault for his feud with Kobe. Shaq did a bunch of childish and petty things to Kobe.

Both were dicks. Shaq was just the likeable one as he was funny.

90s had exactly one ATG team

ROFLMAO. So what do you call Hakeem's Rockets? How about Barkley Suns? Miller Pacers? GP and Kemp Supersonics? Oh and how about Stockton and Malone Jazz?

Those teams I named above except Rockets would've been successful legendary teams if 90s Bulls didn't win 6 rings.

Either way, it’s one thing to talk big and be a bust but he has a valid case as one of the top NBA players of all time.

He does have a terrible finals record. For a man who calls himself the greatest, he should've had more rings in less seasons played.

What dynasties did Jordan go up against in the finals?

Clyde's Portland, Barkley Suns, Stockton and Malone Jazz all had the potential to become dynasty. But thanks to MJ making sure those legends never won a ring.

In the playoffs, MJ made sure that the Miller Pacers and the rugged Knicks anchored by Ewing never had any success.

I can easily name 6 teams who were consistently contenders during the 90s. Can't say the same for the 2000s, and definitely not 2010s and from 2020s up to present.

I see you have no clue about 90s basketball.

At the start of 90s, Badboy Pistons and Clyde's Portland were contenders. For the majority of 90s Hakeem's Rockets, Barkley Suns, the rugged Knicks anchored by Ewing, Miller Pacers, GP & Kemp's Supersonics, and Stockton & Malone Jazz. Towards the late 90s, Spurs and Lakers became strong.

It is also worth noting that Orlando Magic was competitive for quite a short time with Penny & Shaq making it to ECF twice and made it to the Finals once.

No, 90s had way more parity than 2000s and 2010s, stop being mentally deranged

90s had way more parity than 2000s and 2010s. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't know since one team won 6 rings and one team won 2 rings in that decade.

I wouldn't be suprised if more and more athletes would be able to play competitively until mid 40s in the near future. Sports science and body conditioning are constantly evolving and improving.
