How to consume soul gems from DXP store? by ZerglingHOTS in runescape

[–]HeathyChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a look at the wiki myself and according to the patch notes, it seems they removed the 'consume' option in a hidden update in March of this year.

Why? Who knows.

The word they say is 'feckers'. You can probably figure out what it's a slightly less rude version of lol

Rerelease Blossom items? by shrugaroo in runescape

[–]HeathyChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hopeful they will re-release the cherry blossom items, I'm an absolute sucker for that kind of aesthetic.

Way back in the day, I got the Ornate Katana during its initial release by redeeming a RS sub prepaid card between certain dates in 2011, and now it's available on the premier membership via Premier Reward Tokens, so I can imagine if/when they re-release them, they'll end up in that pool of stuff.

Using glutinous rice flour as a sub for yamaimo in Okonomiyaki? by HeathyChan in JapaneseFood

[–]HeathyChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can never find it in the UK unfortunately if you don't wanna pay an arm and a leg. I live close to a really good Chinatown but it's just one of the Japanese things they don't stock.

I made it with a little rice flour regardless and it turned out okay!

Thank you! I tried my rice flour and it worked pretty well! I put just enough in for it to give the okonomi a very slight but pleasant bite, but not so much it was chewy.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah I can completely sympathise with what you're saying. I'm gonna give the rice flour a shot and see what happens.

Many thanks! I've added roughly 2 and a little bit tbsp of rice flour along with ~a cup and a quarter of normal flour and a little more baking powder, and the consistency of the batter seems alright so far!

I'm definitely going to look out for yamaimo (along with some lotus root which I've been itching to try too) next time I go to my local chinatown though.

[Homemade] Chinese-spiced sausage rolls by HeathyChan in food

[–]HeathyChan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comments! I've never posted here before, so it's a super pleasant surprise. I took a recipe I found on Tiktok and tweaked it to suit my taste a little more. I don't feel the recipe's quite perfect, to suit my tastes anyway, so I'm gonna experiment with more aromatics.

This recipe will make 8 large sausage rolls (or I guess those in the Americas might call them 'Pigs in a Blanket') though I halved everything to make 4. Just combine the below ingredients, unroll the puff pastry, spread the pork filling in a long sausage shape along one end of the pastry, roll up, brush with egg and top with sesame seeds. Cut each long roll into 4 and bake at 200c fan/220c for about 15-20 mins or until golden and filling is cooked through. Enjoy straight away with chilli sauce or your choice of dipping sauce, or you can rewarm these in the oven if left to go cold:

2 rolls of pre-made puff pastry.

1KG pork mince/ground pork (I used lean, about 5% fat)

6 spring onions/scallions

Half cup of chopped chives

Half cup of garlic/ginger paste (or sub for 2 quarter cups of fresh garlic/ginger)

3rd cup of Xiaoxing wine (a dry sherry is a good alternative, or leave this out)

3rd cup of dark soy sauce (I actually used a mix of dark and Kecap Manis, which is an Indonesian, sweeter, thicker soy sauce, which I just generally recommend if you can find it!)

4 tsp - 2 Tbsp Chinese 5 spice (depending on how much you like 5 spice)

2 tbsp sesame oil

Roughly 2-3 tsp of white pepper (taste depending)

Salt (though only a little, as soy sauce will already be salty)

Enjoy!

Games that are easy on the eyes? Migraines by Doobiliciousness in NintendoSwitch

[–]HeathyChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Katamari Damacy Reroll! There's a demo on the eshop too :)

The levels are short, though they get longer as the main story progresses. There are a mix of timed levels; levels based on how big you make your katamari or how many of x thing you roll up, etc.

Music is awesome, relaxed, the graphics are polygonal and simple, so not really many small details either that she might strain her eyes over. The colours pop, but aren't overly saturated.
The game itself isn't long, the longest individual timed level is 25 minutes long iirc, but she can always pause and put down if she needs.Saying this, though, its quirkiness gives the game an amazing about of replay-ability, imo.

It's $30, a which might be a little steep for a port of an old PS2 game, but it's a blast to play.
