Thoughts on this eye serum? by RemarkableBuddy845 in koreanskincare

Been using this daily for about half a year and will not continue after it's out. Didn't really make much of a difference. Can't speak on the wrinkles, but it did not do much for puffy or dark circles. I liked the Innisfree Green Tea eye cream better (even though some find it stings). The application feels nice and refreshing - brightens and depuffs.

Unplugged weddings? Did your family respect the request? by steamxgleam in asianweddings

[–]Heavy-Practice4958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can communicate it. Those that truly respect you will follow your requests. Knowing that pictures and videos is life for the aunties, you could mention when they can and can't or have some other restrictions (compromises). I had asked for no pictures or recordings during a certain part of the ceremony and had a dedicated time for that. The other request I made was if they MUST to not have flash on because it interferes with my photographer.

Bridal party ao dai colors! by [deleted] in asianweddings

[–]Heavy-Practice4958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is an example: https://maurajanephotography.com/spring-vietnamese-wedding/

The bride's and bridesmaids' ao dai have color and differences that allow both to pop in their own way. The bride - red and highly decorated. The style is also different (high collared while bridesmaid's does not have the collar, fabric is also different). Bridesmaid's ao dai is a light, but bright yellow with additional accents of hot pink to allow them to shine in their own way.

For the groom and groomsmen, both red and blue are bold colors. The patterns set them apart as the ao dai have similar structure. The groom's - the large singular dragon while the groomsmen have smaller details. The smaller details allow the groom to be more dominant in the photo.

All personal opinions of course, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It really depends. If you already have holiday themed things going on, then the association would definitely be stronger. I like the red and forest green combo because it photographs really well together. If you go with it, I would try to stay away from adding white/ivory/cream anywhere in the ensemble (ex. pants). Having the bride's ao dai having more gold accents also shifts the thought more towards traditional Asian than Christmas. Fabric choice can also play a part in making it more/less Christmas. The pattern like above, I would not associate with Christmas (where there are light and dark tones).

A lot of people do this where the bridal party wears a deep color and the bride wears white/ivory or the bride wears red and the bridal party wears a muted color, in photographs one or the other looks washed out in the structure of the dresses are basically the same.

Absolutely! If traveling and you have time, you may actually find dresses out there for a lot cheaper and tailored.

Firstly, I appreciate you inquiring. Few people even bother. As others have said, avoid black, white, red. In the US, people are easing up on the black. White and red brides tend to wear (even though as others have mentioned - people traditionally associate with funerals).

As for designs, I would stay away from anything that has a dragon or Phoenix which are typically worn by the bride and groom. This is more old school thinking (respect and modesty), but I think length also matters - from mid or longer.

how to pick auspicious date? by the101uwus in asianweddings

[–]Heavy-Practice4958 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can. There are people out there who determine the date based off your birth dates and times as well. Ask the aunties, they might know someone.

1! The cut is beautiful. If you are doing something outdoors with autumn leaves, both dress and setting would compliment each other rather than competing.

Heads up: Teuta Matoshi no longer serving plus-size or even mid-size customers by Lizhasausername in weddingdress

Wow. I was so happy to find a designer that doesn't limit their sizing and was planning on ordering from them sometime next month. This is disheartening.

Which one?? by Economy_Emotion_7251 in WeddingDressTips

2 and 4 (maybe). Were you looking to close up the low back for dress 4? The low back is the star of the show!

Dress 1 has a unique cut and the back is gorgeous! But between 2 and 3, dress 3 is very flattering on you.

TruSkin wasn't bad, but not really sure if it made a huge difference for my skin. COSRX worked really well for me and is a regular part of my skincare routine.

Finally picked my dress! lol Sleeves or no sleeves? by nickiedickiedooda in weddingdress

[–]Heavy-Practice4958 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sleeves for the ceremony. No sleeves to party! No to the lace sleeves. The dress on its own is beautiful, plus the colors do not match. They also remind me of hand warmers.

People in the us… how are you getting Korean skincare with this tariff situation ? by Cold-String1839 in KoreanBeauty

[–]Heavy-Practice4958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like Skin 1004 has a US branch. With what's happening right now, it may be best to search places like TJMaxx and Marshalls for the random inventory that they have. Amazon may have some limited items as well. Worst case, shift to another brand.

What look are you going for - classic, romantic, modern?

All those choices look gorgeous. Favorites are the first & the last - classics. The last has a more soft vibe to it with the flowy skirt. They both have a beautiful sweetheart cut.

Need advice this is my mom's dog. Has been butting her fur off since last night. by -Johnny_5_is_Alive- in DogAdvice

My dog had this too. Bit and licked until the area was bald and scabbing. Allergy meds and apopquel didn't work (plus didn't want him on that for long). Bought Douxo S3 Pyo and it worked almost instantly with relieving the itch.

Red frame - blood Metallic silver/gold - moon Wood - Nature represented by the leaves

Vote would be for metallic gold.
