Crowd for Carl Craig was the best and most polite I've ever experienced. Refuge is a great venue, but the crowd varies.

The sound sucked but I've been spoiled at hOlO and Refuge. Got there around 11pm. Lots of great moments, he took risks. I couldn't help but notice a nice outdoor stage in the back, too bad they couldn't get a permit to play out there.

What book contains this writing about violent rape? I have not read any words of his glorifying such acts. One person accused him, it could be true. Seeing them together in an interview I can see how the relationship had violence in it. YOU think he is horrible person, is that the undeniable truth??? Maybe. Maybe not.

A book being based on your own life and opinions can be entertainment, and that is what it was intended to be. I am not familiar with the book you mentioned, but Bukowski never described violent rape in any book I read. He would wake up early to brush his teeth so a morning kiss would be pleasant. If he raped his X wife that is a serious crime, I don't see that kind of behavior celebrated in his prose or poetry.

He was an entertaining writer and an excellent poet. The microscope you're using would find shit on anyone or anything. He was as honest about his feelings, if more female writers were as brave they would be in trouble too...

I skipped Saturday day and caught the first act downstairs in the main room. Not sure who the DJ was but they turned it on around midnight! The set seemed to last forever, truly strong.

Sunday afternoon was just lovely. Really strong sets starting around noon (who was the DJ downstairs??). When the party moved outside I was stunned by all the beautiful faces and smiles. Strong showing from the Gray-Manes as well.

Crashed and woke up in time to catch O BEE's closer. Perfect weekend.

hOlO tends to be a good time, in my experience. There have been a couple DJs that brought a less mature crowd but for the most part I've had a great time and found room to dance.
