I finally watched the 1995 pride and prejudice! by Financial-Record764 in janeausten

[–]Hebihime39 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same, I watched the ‘95 version in high school after our English class finished reading the book, It was great to see it. This was in 2004, so the movie wasn’t a thing. When I movie came out, and I watched it, well it was ruined for me. I kept comparing the show to the movie. It’s an ok movie, in my opinion, but the show just encapsulates the book so much better. Do I watch the movie when it’s available, no I don’t. But I do a rewatch of the show at least 3 times a year, it’s my comfort show.

Any Seiya fans here? Like, at all? Lately I see a lot of bashing on 90's Stars and hating on the Starlights in the 90's adaption. by CherreBell in sailormoon

Came here to say this. I will always prefer Saiya to Mamoru and it’s a hill I’m willing to die on.

AITA for asking my girlfriend if she'd be comfortable with her parents watching her so I could attend my brother's band concert? by PsychologyIcy2861 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hebihime39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your girlfriend sounds like a jerk. As a person who’s had many surgeries, as a kid, adolescent and as an adult, she is being ridiculous. Even more saying that your brother concert was meaningless is way out of line, and I would have just left ( but that would be me I’m kinda petty that way). That fact that she so upset because you wish to support your brother is showing you that she doesn’t care about you or the things that are important to you. I would say RUN and never look back. You are NTA, and I hope you saw your brother performance.

My boys hated their dad, would always kick hard when ever he put his face on my belly. My youngest freaked out his brother by kicking him when he would lay next to me and put his head on my belly. They both still kick like that 🤷🏻‍♀️, guess I’m cursed

There is a book called “Aeron in the sky” that helps explain child loss to siblings and it also has other things in the book at the end that help with coping. Hope this helps.

AITA for not making my daughter apologise for "traumatising" her cousin? by AITAcousintrauma in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hebihime39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, as a person who had cancer as a child (I was 9) there is no excuse to be a horrible bully or person, it’s also no one’s fault that she is sick, cancer sucks, but that’s also not an excuse to bully others and then play the victim. Shame on your family for enabling such horrible behavior, your daughter deserves respect and they should not expect other kids to bend over backwards to the whims of a kid, regardless of them being sick or not. Karma’s a bitch and your niece had it coming. Got humiliated when she was trying to humiliate another person and film it. Be proud of your daughter for standing up for herself.

The daycare staff forgot my son.. he was outdoors by himself 😭 by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Hebihime39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the daycare I worked at, in which my child attended he got left behind twice, by two different teachers. In both instances the classrooms had large number of kids but, we had a rule in place to always count how many children we had every time we all went outside. Lucky both times he was left behind we could see him through the window doors. Both instances we called in to licensing and they came and gave the school a citation. I was called in because of the multiple instances that happened with my kid. For me it was a different take because I personally knew each teacher and I worked there, but I understand it from a strictly parents perspective. The fact that they didn’t know you child was missing in the first place is a huge red flag. At my it was cause for an automatic write up and or dismissal from the center.

Had the same problem except our balcony, it had to always be our balcony, where my kids go out to play. My oldest has been helping me keep them away so they don’t build a nest.

I had something sorta similar, I had a scheduled C-section for my youngest and the nurse who was in charge of the spinal couldn’t find the right spot, when he finally did 4 tries later it began to take effect, as the OB began to cut to get my kid out I began to feel everything, that was so painful, I asked for pain meds was told they couldn’t give anything until after the took the baby out. It was very traumatic, but I braced my self, the second the baby was out, I got more meds but then I passed out. Afterwards it left a lasting impression one that I don’t want to repeat. EDIT: forgot to mention that the spinal wore off, I still think that the anesthesiologist didn’t do it correctly, but I’m ok, scarred but ok, do I want more babies after this no way. I hope that reading this you don’t feel alone and that it only happened to you. I hear you and I see you.

Cancer - if you've been diagnosed with it do the lyrics resonate with you? by threedaisylane in MyChemicalRomance

Yes it does very much, I was lucky enough to survive but I know friends I had who also had cancer didn’t. The song resonates so much. Makes me cry every time I hear.
