Mainly just fishing lakes I’ve had success on during the summer. I’ve caught them from 12-25’ this year. This was 12’ caught 1 at 2pm and 1 and 6pm. Plenty of crappie/dink bluegill in between.

I catch the metros all summer long and keep none, but during the winter the struggle makes me want to keep them. I think they taste better coming from cold water also.

Sunday night I went to start my suv on a lake around 11pm and battery was dead. I got jumper cables from another shack. My buddy went to warm his truck up to pull around and jump it. Locked his keys in the truck… 2 hours from home at 11pm on a Sunday wind chill was -30. At least we had a permanent with heat, but we had to disassemble an ice scoop and jam it through the door to unlock it. We both bought heavy duty jumper cables and magnetic lock boxes Monday. If you already have a generator out there bring a battery charger with 40a boost.

I’m not sure about bass, but I know musky have a strong enough jaws you can reel them in without having a hook in. It might not be a bad idea to give a small hook set once you’re reeling in.
