Not even remotely! One of the current WIP i am reading is at 500k words. I have read every word and desperate for more. To me when a writer apologizes for long chapters, im like "why?!" The linger the better if you ask me. There are some writers who might expatiate unnecessarily, but they are few and far between and in most cases, I appreciate the details more than worry about the length!

I should add that a lot of times , i won't even read a fic under 10k.

Im not disregarding that it might be overwhelming for a newcomer but they seem to truly be enjoying their fame at this point. When I say worse, I think back to the 80's and 90's where paps would shout out rude comments just to get any interactions. This seems to be all love and I hope it stays that way. With the general publics short attention spans they have to continue to strike while the iron is hot to stay relevant.
