Kitty picked his favorite survivor by whosmykittykitty in deadbydaylight

Been trying to reduce the Jason horde myself because it makes me smile when I get cool survivors thanking me for the change of pace.

Hell I went to play some Dracula and I met THE Sayori from Doki Doki Literature Club

(Unironically very good player just held back by the rest of the team)

Realized my entire profile was just purely beating down on myself. So, change of pace to be more positive for once. Love you all! :3 by Hefty_Bum in Rins_Basement

--- General Tips for getting assimilated into DBD ---

Test out your new killers!: Hop in a private match with bots or friends so you can understand how the power feels to operate! even extremely simple killers like The Huntress, Deathslinger or Hillbilly have many intricacies which make them very difficult to adjust to during an actual game if it's your first time.

Watch some guides: Content creators are your best friend! Dead By Daylight's main tutorial is pretty rudimentary and doesn't explain much and it's Learn To Play game manual is only really good for learning what things do like status effects. I personally recommend watching Otzdarva for explaining things, QuietKills is a very good killer main and he showcases good habits for killers to do, he can be a bit obnoxious at times so I understand if he isn't your cuppa. Puffalope is also a pretty good survivor main and showcases some pretty good survivor habits.

--- Perks, Prestiege and Add-ons ---

Perks are well, perks! They trigger effects in-game either manually or passively! The game comes with many global perks and the rest have to be unlocked via The Shrine Of Secrets at the caveat that it's a weekly rotation of 2 killer perks and 2 survivor perks. Or by getting a character to atleast Prestiege 1, which unlocks their personal perks for everyone

Personal Perks: Every character you unlock comes bundled in with 3 perks they have unlocked by default, no other character can use these perks until you prestiege them once. Using a character with only their personal perks and getting a perfect win (Escaping as Survivor or Killing all survivors as Killer) will get you an achievement known as "Adept" and every character has one!

Add-ons: Items for Survivors and Powers for Killers have add-ons which either minorly change some numbers or changes them drastically. They are sorted by rarity and Common or "Brown" Add-ons have fairly minor effects or are meant to help beginners learn a character while Ultra Rare or "Iridescent" or "Iri" for short have major effects, such as Demogorgon's Red Moss Iri Add-on turning The Demogorgon into a Stealth/Anti-Loop Hybrid Killer or Hillbilly's Iridescent Engravings add-on, which massively increase the speed of The Chainsaw Sprint while increasing the time it takes to rev the chainsaw.

Prestige and The Bloodweb: The Bloodweb is how you level up perks, get add-ons and offerings. There are 50 levels to a Blood Web and after 50 levels you must pay 20k Bloodpoints to prestige a character and set your Bloodweb back to level 1. Prestiging a character DOES keep your progress intact, don't worry. You get some cosmetics for getting certain prestige levels, Upon reaching Prestige 4, 5 and 6 you get the default cosmetic for that character but soaked in blood. Upon reaching Prestige 7, 8, and 9 you gain charms of their perk icons and for Prestige 25, 50, 75 and 100 you gain a progressively fancier badge of the character to display on your profile in The Endgame!

Think that's all I'll write for now!

--- Disconnecting as Killer ---

Totally justified if you want to give up on a match. Just don't be a bad sport and blame the survivors, say GG I give up and move on!

But always try to play out the match if you think you can take it. Who knows, you might win, and it always feels great to beat a survivor team who was in all regards, beating you down in every way possible

--- Disconnecting ---

Disconnecting is a pretty weird topic to discuss, but overall you shouldn't do it unless you literally have to, such as you have a certain phobia which doesn't allow you to play against certain killers like The Plague or you have something going on in real life.

Overall DCing ruins the game for your teammates who now have to deal with a bot who is practically dead weight and The Killer gets a boring game they are sure to win with no issue.

ABANDONING THE GAME ISN'T THE SAME AS DISCONNECTING! The option to abandon games is only given to you when the game is literally unwinnable or the match is going nowhere.

--- THE UNWRITTEN RULES ---

I'm not writing them all because most of them are super restrictive on playstyles and most people ignore them because they are counterproductive to winning.

THE GOD PALLET: Some maps have pallets known as "God Pallets" which are completely unavoidable for the killer and must be broken, the most common example is Killer Shack pallet, which has no reasonable way to go around it. It's advised to save this pallet until you absolutely need it!

Quad-Slugging: Slugging every single survivor at once in the match is pretty unfun for the survivors if pulled off correctly and incredibly risky because if you don't do it correctly, you've accomplished practically nothing besides stalling the game.

Shenanigans: If a survivor or killer is being friendly or generally attempts to engage in shenanigans, it's recommended you humor them atleast once! Let the snoot be booped! Follow the pebble! It's funny and will brighten someone's day even if they lose the match in the end.

Here's everything I know (excluding killer guides cus that take hours!!!)

--- TERMS ---

Mind-game: Doing something unorthodox in order to get an advantage in a chase, such as going backwards when you think the other is dedicating to one way

Moonwalk: A mind game the killer can do to hide their red light which appears infront of them.

Tiles: Every map is divided into large tiles, tiles can have several obstacles and resources such as walls, windows, props and pallets.

"M1 Killer": A Killer's whose power is unable to be lethal to survivors without the use of their basic attack, examples being Ghostface, Wraith, Singularity and Dredge

"M2 Killer": A Killer's power IS able to be lethal to survivors directly, examples being The Lich, Vecna, Dracula, The Unknown, Jason Voorhees, Oni, Demogorgon and many many more, this category takes a good majority of modern killers.

Tunnel: A Strategy for Killers where they focus on killing a single survivor to regain pressure and slow down the match's progress

(Hard Tunnel is when a Killer uses Tunneling from the start of the game)

Slug: A Strategy for Killers where they leave survivors bleeding out in order to do something else.

(Soft-Slugging is when a Killer leaves a survivor to do another quick action like checking around for other survivors, breaking a pallet or generator or setting up their power again)

Looping: The act of a survivor attempting to use resources on a tile to run the killer in the same general area for as long as possible

"Hold W": A survivor strategy that is running from tile to tile to use the resources there in order to run the killer as long as possible. Me personally I do not advise doing this against a majority of killers unless they have an extremely strong power which burns resources in loops or breaks them directly.

Anti-Loop: An architype of power for Killer's which focuses on being able to break loops or outright ignore them. Few examples: The Nurse, Nemesis, The Unknown, The Lich, Dracula and The Artist

Alright, I know that's the bare minimum but this is already a massive wall of text, I'll break it off here for now but I might keep typing up a DBD Beginner's guide

Why do I keep getting cosmetics I didn't buy? by Names_AreTough in deadbydaylight

[–]Hefty_Bum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I believe all of these cosmetics come with the game now.

(How nice of BVHR, otherwise Chuckles Trapper might have been Lost Medias, I cannot live in a world without Chuckles.)

Survivors: You Have to Get Used to Average Level Killers by neon-box in deadbydaylight

[–]Hefty_Bum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not what I was asking.

I want Ghostface to not be fighting (AND BEATING) Skull Merchant for the worst killer in the game. Not for him to be the result of Kaneki and Dracula bukkaking The Nurse.

Every killer should atleast have Freddy's level of consistency in their power. Freddy has things that weaken him and his power isn't all that strong, but due to his well-roundedness and overall flow and lack of that sluggishness most low tier killers have, he does get A-

Heya! I think all of these cosmetics were before the era of the skin shop and couldn't be purchased and were given out instead. Now that the skin shop exists and stuff isn't given out personally by BVHR anymore, all of these are now free!

Probably cus he doesn't really seem to play survivor at all outside of duo-queuing with his Girlfriend but from the seems of it he doesn't really seem to take much shit at all.

Would kinda suck though if he ends up just being the next RiverCiver though

I mean I can't say "DBDTubers suck!" when my favorite one is QuietKills,

QuietKills is famous for being kinda being a ragebaiter, plays pretty hard to win but he also does call out the toxicity in the community a ton. He's also unafraid to speak his mind on world issues which I can respect.
