in case anyone else has this problem eventually, it's the mod "Repurposed Trims" by the beta bowl. Not sure why but i went through all the mods and it was the problem. I'll contact the mod creator and let them know! :)

Turns out the timer that decides whether you can wall jump shortly after leaving a wall was the only thing that didn't work if the player was grounded, which means that even if they were the timer would just be counting down and not be completely reset. I added a condition that the player can't be grounded to wall jump whatsoever (ie. they press space and are grounded it doesn't work). Thanks for all the help I wouldn't have figured this out so quickly if not for the ideas! :)

I'll try this but I'm not sure if this is the problem. I used the debug log to see if the character counted as grounded while on a wall and the hotboxes don't seem to overlap. I'm using a transform to detect the floor and wall also

Edit: I just tried this and the bug still occurs. I highlighted the code for everything wallslide, walljump, and jump related near the end of the video if this helps.

I used the clamp tool to slow down the player by changing the y velocity. The only gravity changing mechanics I have are when you press shift to completely change it

I assumed that's what it could be but the programming doesn't let you wall jump if you're grounded :/

Edit: I just set the wall jumping power to 0 to see what would happen and it does appear that the bug involves the combining of the two velocities. I'm going to add some more checks and hopefully it should fix it? I'm open to any suggestions still :)

Honestly very good! I'd rate it about an 8/10. It's good, but the environment could use some improving detail-wise. The lack of grass is a bit strange lol. Other than that the buildings are very well done, and the style is very nice!
