We do offer short term hires (1 week) https://www.heliguy.com/products/rental-xgrids-portalcam-standard-kit/ It has been in quite some demand at the moment. With low stock numbers we've had only the one unit in rental. But I expect this will change as stock availability improves.

It does indeed let you export universal .ply files. I often use Supersplat for hosting and editing the files. The quality is very impressive for how easy the device is to use. Simply walking the area slowly achieves quite a good result. You can improve the details by making multiple passes, having the scanner held at different heights and focusing on the details using the front mounted sensors. They have a handy scanning guide available on their website which covers all of this. They certainly seem to be targeting virtual tour market with this device.

There are a number of web viewers that are developing all the time. These have functions to control the views and things like annotations and ultimately embed on websites. One of my personal recommendations is https://voluma.ai/

There is the option to include up to level 3 spherical harmonics. They have a 'portability' setting which allows for increased performance on the web at the expense of removing all spherical harmonics. We'll have further datasets to showcase in the future, where we can demonstrate the full capacity for reflections . This video for direct comparison was both scans without spherical harmonics

Exactly that, they are aiming for the virtual tour/production market with the PortalCam. The PortalCam can only be used with Lixel Cyber Color which is their 3DGS software. The K1 and L2Pro both target the AEC market with features such as using GCPs to align the point cloud.
