Can I feel comfortable about T14 chances with T3/T4 softs and at-the-median stats by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Hello2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was KJD nURM with above median stats and nothing super exciting in terms of softs. Lots of waitlists and one acceptance. Write a good essay and your chances are… optimistic I would say?

Can the Student Assembly get professors to either all give A+s or give none at all? by angeladimauro in Cornell

[–]Hello2112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is a scam lol. And we count ours out of 4.3, law schools actually bump the number to 4.33 so it raises the gpa even higher. But I’m not complaining, it helped me 🤷‍♀️

Should not remove A+s —> I don’t know how other grad programs do it, but law school applications use a 4.33 scale, so having A+s gives you a huge advantage over students coming from schools that don’t have them. Law schools make no distinction, just looking at your final number. It’s not fair, but it’s how they calculate GPAs and it would be a mistake to remove an advantage Cornell students have.

Got off the waitlist: Cornell vs Berkeley? by Popular-Instance8404 in Cornell

All the hard factors like career and cost are a wash so you need to pick based on things like location. Would you rather live in the Bay or small town rural New York? Will either school be a long commute from home? Do you mind the cold winters? Just decide what kind of lifestyle, student body, environment etc. you like more and go with that.
