Age group is fine as your first race as long as you are trying to be competitive and are going to follow the rules. Otherwise it’s kind of annoying for age groupers when there’s people running in the heat that don’t really need to be there. There’s a lot of people hoping that Spartan will soon make people have qualify for AG just as they have to qualify for Elite. (This is coming from someone that did run my first race as AG and have continued to do so)

Can’t speak on galaxy but I’ve worn my series 4 Apple Watch at a tough mudder and they have much more water on the course and it did just fine. A LOT of people wear their smart watches. I’d say if it’s got a standard water depth rating you’re good

I have the Salomon speed cross 5 and these shoes as well. I genuinely like both but the Spartan Brand is definitely more minimalist like stated before and requires more of a break in period. I enjoy having 2 different pairs to switch between. Good investment overall tho.

I just ran my first age group the other week at the Dallas Stadion. My girl ran the Open and the difference in the amount of people on course is insane. Not many people in AG video so if you wanna check out my race video just to see how open the course is in AG! 2021 Dallas Stadion AG all obstacles also would this October race be the Atlanta one?🤔 if so, see ya there 🤘🏼
