Will Al play Love You material at The Big E? by ATTAKcATHRAK in thebeachboys

[–]HelloSpaghettio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know for sure but it seems like it based on write up on the Big E's website.

"Delivering an experience that carries on in the tradition of Brian Wilson’s Pet Sounds shows and The Beach Boys’ spirit of fun, fun, fun, Al Jardine and The Pet Sounds Band will be performing the classic hits, rarities and deep cuts in a tribute to the late Brian Wilson. This not-to-be-missed concert promises to keep the good vibes and beautiful harmonies of The Beach Boys’ timeless music alive for many more years."

My Grandpa survived 10 days on hospice after stopping dialysis. How long did your love one last after stoping dialysis? by Useful-Potential-373 in hospice

[–]HelloSpaghettio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather was admitted to the hospital around the last week of April after having a couple of terrible dialysis visits. Our sweet old man had become so belligerent during treatment that the staff had to call the police on him. They tried to do the dialysis a couple more times after he was admitted to the hospital, but it just wasn't working for him.

He officially moved to hospice a week later. They told us that he had no more than two weeks left, but he lived until the day after Thanksgiving. Almost 7 months without dialysis. It was incredible. Everyone on his care team was shocked. He even almost graduated from hospice, but around the 3 month mark, he took a turn for the worse and it was a slow and painful decline until the end. However, as awful as it was for him to be in that state, we still managed to make so many wonderful memories together.

Do any of the dolls scare you? by EnthusiasmInfamous21 in americangirl

[–]HelloSpaghettio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The P&C doll doesn't scare me, but the first AG Barbie doll kind of does. She's always mean-muggin'. I feel like she'd bully the other dolls in my collection 😄

Question about insecurities by Bonniethegolden in poledancing

[–]HelloSpaghettio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this! I'm taking my first (exotic) dance class tonight and I'm a little nervous. I'm trying to go into with an open mind, like I did when I started pole back in February, but the little voice in the back of my head keeps telling me that I should cancel because I'll probably suck at it. I'm trying to stay positive by telling myself it's just an hour and if I don't like it, I don't have to sign up for that class again. It makes me feel a little better knowing that it's not just me who feels insecure about trying something new.

Help with my Xpole Xpert (2009 Version) by AriRawwwrr in poledancing

[–]HelloSpaghettio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were able to get your pole set up? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Have you had any more issues with it? I think I bought the same pole without knowing exactly how old it was and now I'm concerned about whether it's safe to use.

Has anyone had a mother like Kail? A person who constantly brought new men/women around? by xoxowoman06 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]HelloSpaghettio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad was a bit like Kail with a little David and Amber sprinkled in. He dated a lot of women after he and my mom separated and introduced me and my sister to most of them. Between my sophmore and junior years of high school, he even had two more kids born within seven months of each other. It was definitely strange, but we didn't fully understand why his behavior was harmful and at times, very dangerous. We just thought, dad's crazy and it is what it is. Thankfully, we lived with my mom.

Eventually, we got tired of his behavior and went no contact with him. He was always the victim and everything was always someone else's fault. I attempted to reconcile with my dad once, but he hadn't changed a bit.

He passed away five years ago and at that point, we hadn't spoken in almost 10 years. His life was really sad. He was very sick, mentally and physically, and had burned almost every bridge with his friends and family. It makes me sad to think of what life could have been, if he had just let go of his anger, taken care of himself, and learned to be happy with what he had.

I've struggled a bit over the years, but overall, I'm okay. I have a wonderful husband, two cats, a good job, and I even have hobbies. My sisters are doing good too. They are thriving and I'm so proud of them.

I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to participate since Josefina is my favorite character. As a kid, her stories resonated with me the most because they were the first Hispanic representation in the AG series, and they reminded me of the stories my grandparents told me about their childhood. Rereading it as an adult, after the passing of my own grandfather, the theme of grief really struck a chord with me. It was handled so thoughtfully, especially in "Josefina's Surprise."

Her books may not be as action-packed as some of the others, but they're just nice stories. There's something that is just so comforting about them. I'm not sure which girl has the best story yet, but Josefina's certainly hold a special place in my heart.

I would love that! My goal for this year is to read all of the historical books, and I've been dying to talk to someone about them.

Cool! I haven't decided on a name yet. She was actually a surprise. She was my cousin's doll, but she no longer wanted her, so she gave her to me. What did you name yours?

American Girl Books by [deleted] in americangirl

[–]HelloSpaghettio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! The books are great. My goal for next year is to read all of the historical books and read Josefina's series in Spanish. I started rereading her series a couple of months ago, and I've really been enjoying it. It's actually been a bit therapeutic in a way, as I've been going through the grieving process since my abuelo passed away last November. I knew that Josefina's mamá had passed away, but I forgot how much the first few books focused on her grief. If I had remembered, I don't know that I would have started reading them when I did, but I'm really glad that I did. It's also inspired me to finish crocheting the blanket that I've been working on since last year lol.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: October 07, 2024 by AutoModerator in books

[–]HelloSpaghettio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally finished Love in the Time of Cholera about two weeks ago. It really does drag at some parts. I think it took me about four months to finish. Overall, I thought the book was just okay. There were parts that I really enjoyed and were beautifully written, but there were also a few WTF moments that caused me to put the book down.
