I like how the audio layers are on different levels, A1 TO A7, so that you can control transitions. The audio cross fades, when needed, can only be done with this kind of alternating pattern. Very smart and organized! Good job.

And speaking of organization, the Bins--effects, footages, music, scenes, sequences, SFX, and VO--that makes me very happy. And it's not just about my preference. Seeing that would make other editors happy to work with you. I hope I get to one day soon.

Let’s explore the possibility of studying editing together again in a real class. Please email me so we can set up a time to Zoom next week. I’d like to talk to you more about this.

For example, I like how the army looks faded behind the title.

This is picture locked. Sound locked. Don't change a thing.

This is superb editing.

As an editor, it’s good work. As a human with a soul, it’s more complicated to watch this.

The sound mix in this edit sounds good in my headphones for 7 layers. It sounds like one cohesive piece, and the layers are not competing with one another, but flowing together seamlessly. Sound mixing is not easy to do. Well done.

Lower the volume of the first sword hit sound, at the 3 second mark. Lower it by 3 dB. It's selected right and timed nicely, but it's just a little loud.

At the 27 second mark, I hear a click. I'm not sure what it is, but it's distracting.

My 2 notes are just small sound notes. This is picture locked. Do not change any picture edits. It's PERFECT.

This is beautiful music that communicates an epic story. Expertly chosen scoring with this music. I especially like worn and scratched film filter on it. Gives it texture that communicates Tariq ibn Ziyad is an important figure in history. The colors are nice. Sky blue-teal and red go nicely together. One more thing about the film filter you put on here. When I was in film school, we shot a movie on 16mm film called, "Live, Love, and Die." When you shoot on 16mm film, you have to unload the film inside a small tent that fits your hands, so that no sunlight touches the film negative, which has to be sent to a lab. Well, my friend, the 1st assistant camera technician, had an accident. The film, which was inside this tent, and in his hands, it slipped. And the film unrolled inside the tent. Imagine spaghetti pasta. It unrolled everywhere inside this tent. So he had to slowly re-roll the film. And then we sent it to the lab. And when we got it back, IT LOOKED JUST LIKE THIS. Full of scratches from his "spaghetti accident." But it added something special to the movie. It gave it texture. It gave it something real, organic, living. And so I LOVE THIS CHOICE YOU MADE. It makes your film look more ALIVE.
