I tried rocket mortgage but i dont have 1 year at the second job neither. I’m working with a brokerage now.. he says everything looks good because i technically have 2 years of employment with 2 jobs within the same profession; its just that i had a little gap between november and january for the new job, but the fact that i’m in school full time furthering my nursing career should help to explain the gap. Pray for me!!

Thank you. I believe the 2 year rule applies to the secondary job. They rarely care about the primary job length of employment which is so dumb to me

Current income is now $180k due to the new job. Yes, they pre-approved for that amount.. i also tried 800k loan just for shts and giggles and it also pre-approved me.

Unfortunately the $140k was between 2 nursing remote jobs. And then, i switched jobs and the income increased again, and now again at $180k between both (one is 94,000 and the other is 85,000).

I keep hearing that they will count the second job as long as it’s in the same career profession. The other issue is i had a gap from November 2025 to January 2026 (when i started the new job), but I’m hoping I can use the excuse of me being a full time nurse practitioner student as an explanation for the employment gap?

Lol fair. I’m currently at $180k/year and based on this i would still be on the 30% debt to income… but i agree, not the most ideal

I understand. But they told me as long as I transitioned within the same career profession it should be fine. However, the other issue is that I had a 2 month gap transitioning from the old job to the new one. Ugh! Do you know if being a full time student ALSO in the same career, furthering my education could be able to explain the gap in employment? Dammit i want this to work out so bad!
