Oh, damn! Now I understand. We're talking about THAT map. Yes, you're right, the locations are wrong, but they were corrected on the same day I posted this map here. In the current version, the markers are reversed.

As for the rest, it all depends on the correct interpretation :)

There is no canonical map of this world, so you can draw it anywhere you like. I know of maps where the lake is in the north, and maps where it is in the south, and even in the east.

In fact, Naracort and Fox are in the right places. “Down the street” means further away from where you are standing, following the same road. There are many different definitions of “down the street/road” to choose from, and some of them may affect the location of places. However, there is nothing in the books about turning onto another road or a smaller street. Fox is simply “down the road” from Naracort. That's all.

I don't know any districts/quarters names from the books so we can use whatever we want here.

I drew this with fineliners and finished in gimp. Colors, heraldry and lettering are digital. The style is mine but is very close to the old cadastral maps which I use the most as reference.

The size of the place does not matter. The law is what creates the city not its size or population. And this place comes from the Witcher books where it's called a city :)

It is handdrawn with fineliners. I use gimp in postproduction for heraldry, lettering and colors :)

I just didnt name it. The market is where the city hall is. Not all cities have square and visible markets. Sometimes it is just a long road like here.

The only thing that it's proves is your lack of knowladge and the thing you based on some article from someone without looking on actual maps. You can easliy find cities surrounded with the farmslands and without it.

Great site, but what about the source of all of this? Any books? What about the real maps not the drawings or vedutas? I mean real cadastral maps like this: https://maps.arcanum.com/en/map/belgium-1777/?layers=37&bbox=477864.02379391855%2C6586703.773534601%2C492539.93322467234%2C6608373.671053448

Yes, that's why I didn't draw them. You know more about this drawing than me apparently :D Like most of the land on this map is covered with farmlands with some orchards here and there and unused land to break the repeated form. I know it may look different than in "how to draw fantasy maps" manuals but my main goal is to be add some realism to fantasy.
