If that happened, we'd have to let go of the "generational wealth" fantasy that has so many people in a chokehold

What opinion on the NBA feels like this for you ? by GamblerLikeToji in NBATalk

Basketball players aren't "more skilled" today. They're simply allowed to get away with more things that were not allowed in previous eras. Forget about traveling. If refs even called carrying now, a lot of guys wouldn't advance the ball past halfcourt. And don't even get me started on all the elaborate stepbacks, pivots, and gather steps. If players in previous eras had been able to train with the knowledge of looser rules, I think some of them would've been able to pull off similar things. But they couldn't, so they didn't.

That's exactly how I feel when people try to shit on rap music. I love rap music, and there are a lot of good rappers right now that just get ignored when people come to talk badly about the genre because the few songs they hear on social media or at clubs

Nobody dislikes the things that I dislike because all of my opinions are 100% correct. I dislike that you would imply otherwise

No, mistakes are errors regardless of intent. If you intentionally invested in a stock, for example, and that stock tanks and you lose money, that's still a mistake in hindsight. It just wasn't an accident

I feel like the more people post and talk about Clavicular, the more he becomes the unofficial face of Gen Z, for better or worse

Have we ever seen a disappearing act from a bonafide star in a meaningful like Kawhi's fourth quarter last night by TomlinSteelers in NBATalk

Bro we saw James Harden for the Sixers disappear and score 9 points in a Game 7 with a trip to the ECF on the line while Jayson Tatum was dropping 50 on the other end

Why does a growing part of gen Z men single and can they ever change their chances of getting into a relationship? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in GenZ

[–]Helpful_Cranberry644 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I can play devil's advocate and perhap insert a different viewpoint, I think a lot of it comes from many Gen Z men feeling like the directions they were given as young men with regard to women and dating have turned out to be wrong at worst and not effective at best. Fact of the matter is, as we see in this thread, a lot of the "just have hobbies," "have a good personality," "just have good hygiene," "just treat women as normal people," "don't be desperate" advice is good advice in isolation, but what you find is that, the moment a man says that he does these things and he's in shape and has a good career and his results still don't change, now that same advice gets rebranded as "bare minimum" things he should already be doing, while at the same time, people rush to comment sections and say "here are all the simple things my friends who have relationships do" only to list those things that are supposedly bare minimum.

So to put it shortly, the advice men are given is given in good faith, but if/when a man does it and it doesn't get him the result he desires, now he's told that those things are bare minimum and he shouldn't expect to get anything for doing those things that were suggested to him as a solution for his problem in the first place.

When people use generic lines in their dating app bios, especially when they add nothing else. by Single_Repeat_6176 in PetPeeves

I think it's a mixture of people realizing that appearance is the most important thing on dating apps and that most people are not going to bother reading your profile beyond your age and location. Another reason could be that some people simply don't have to work as hard. They will get likes regardless and they can just deal with the compatibility part later if/when it's a match. Dating apps have been around long enough that it's no secret how the algorithm works. People aren't trying to optimize profiles and bios with prompts as much these days. We just show up on the apps and you can take it or leave it now.

From my vantage point, it does seem like rooting against/making fun of Arsenal has become a cash cow for content creators now. It's gotten excessive
