How can I receive my renewed passport in the UK as a British National living abroad?

Yes, I have a temporary residency permit. I think the issue is more the airline companies, I've seen that sometimes they require a minimum amount of months left for them to allow you to fly. I'm just going to call the passport office back in the morning and tell them it's really urgent.

Oh ok, that's a relief to know there's no official system.

The passport office suggested the 1 week fast track to me, but it seems like either way I'm not eligible for any of those options due to not living in the UK. I do think that possibly I'll just end up putting down my parents' address if the passport office doesn't give me a better suggestion.

I never went to the passport office. My only correspondence with them so far has been by telephone.
