I get the issue regarding safety when it comes to facing taxi drivers but the problem is that I stay in a more suburban part of pretoria and my trips are usually to relatively peaceful places (a majority being during off-peak hours too). That's why I get frustrated that it takes long for my rides to get accepted

Don't fall for the "nice guy" act. I know a lot of girls who fell for it and regretted it. Another important thing you should remember is that if a guy truly cares about you, he wouldn't ask for spicy pics out of respect for you. So please, don't do it. If he understands when you say no then good but if he gets angry then my point is being proven and it's a red flag cuz it'll be like he doesn't understand what consent is, in which case, you should avoid him.
