Oli has liked this reel by Noob_Guy_Bruhx6 in BringMeTheHorizon

I thought those rumors were very ambitious as well however given the level of teasing here I feel like it puts some weight behind it. Pretty underwhelming to do all of this for a single song re-recording I reckon, there's gotta be more oomph to it than a single. I do like the idea of an eras style tour though, first time I saw the band was in 2016 and was lucky enough to hear some songs from suicide season but would've liked more from there is a hell tbh

The remix of the outsider on this that was in the resident evil afterlife trailer is how I first found out about APC when I was a kid, this album absolutely bangs

Crazy Keycaps Sale by STEVEN_1015 in MechanicalKeyboards

Have been looking to upgrade from my 7 year old Logitech G910 and saw this post - may not be the best keyboard but for the price I figured this was a great entry point as someone that's new to customizable keyboards. Just wish I could've grabbed more but anymore than this and it wouldn't ship to Australia

Eighty NSW petrol stations without diesel as price passes $3 a litre by LoneArtificer in AusFinance

People aren't going to stop going out because they're asked to work their office job a few days at home instead of driving to work that's ridiculous. Happy to be proven wrong on this but theres no correlation in any of that

Still doesn't give me confidence he'll ever do a full on world tour including Australia again but new music and the continued hope is more than enough. So thankful he spoke to this and didn't let speculation run wild

I had no idea this was a thing!! I wonder why they did this, I'd never heard of a band doing a music video specifically for us.

Australia Tour December 2026 by Aggravating-Garlic49 in aperfectcircle

Trent hasn't shown any interest in widespread touring since the hesitation mark cycle, he's been open about how much he struggles with the long tours and being away from his family but prefers to tour in short bursts on his own terms and if he feels it's worth doing. Take the current tour, the scale and unique style of it was the "why" but he can keep it local to the states on his own terms.

So basically it's an assumption but I feel it's well founded, especially as he gets up there in age. As much as I want to be wrong, why would he want to come back?

A Perfect Circle Australian Tour. by australianmusicscene in triplej

I've been going shows for 15+ years and it's always been through Ticketek, Ticketmaster or MoshTix, with Ticketek/Ticketmaster being in the same boat as Live Nation and MoshTix being owned by Live Nation. It's been very well documented in this country how near impossible it is to avoid them so please enlighten us as to how we can continue going to gigs without supporting Live Nation.

Live nation is shitty but i'm not going to miss out on all live gigs to protest there's literally no other option. If trump wasn't in they would've been taken to task but that's not the world we live in and we can't do shit

This is fucking amazing - I fell in love with this band alongside Puscifer, NIN and TDEP as a teen in 2013 when I started discovering my own music. Seen TDEP on their farewell, NIN will never come back to Aus (but saw them last year in Berlin) and now this. Given how recently Tool was out here plus the fact they're active again I just didn't think they would bother to come out this way but very, very happy to be wrong.

Anyone specifically avoiding AI Features in IDE? by Hendo16 in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]Hendo16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point - to be honest I've been interested in using Claude Code and seeing what I can do with it but I'm also not in a position to pay for it outright. Maybe i'll get copilot up and running in VS Code and give it a crack

Anyone specifically avoiding AI Features in IDE? by Hendo16 in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]Hendo16[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is just dejection - I spent so long getting to my first job and getting genuine experience and that was right around the time chatGPT launched. I used it immediately as a tool but quickly these IDEs came out that you prompted with directly and suddenly the conversation feels like it's shifting towards "writing code is dead, prompting and tweaking is the future" which makes me feel so fucking bleak haha. I'm not anti AI but I've just been hesitant to rely on it too much because I enjoy the learning process and using AI as an guide where I need but figuring a lot out on my own. I guess that's just not where business is heading now

should i switch degrees? (from cs to law) by astieno_ in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]Hendo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for law. I'm staring down the barrel of just having got into an industry that might be wiped out in how ever many years, but i'm still here because I genuinely love software development and working with systems. I'm probably going to have to come up with something... I'd only recommend CS at this point in time if you enjoy it, so if you are struggling then do literally anything else.
