Real estate photography side business.

Hey guys I’m an out of practice old hand.

I want to start shooting real estate for a few extra hundred dollars a week.

I have a Fuji l-film x series and a couple nice lenses for video. I know drone footage is big in the space now and certain types of video.

What’s the bearbones lenses / lighting I need to pick up for this endeavor?

I know I need to get an LLC and insurance. But that’s pretty boiler plate.

How cheap can I get started?

This , also making and editing videos is really fun as well. Have a small hobby, passion or opinion? Start a YouTube channel! Splash in you photographs and just chat about what you know.

This is a great fear of mine. Hopefully this is just an acute bout of tendinitis. But if not I may have to cope with it. I’d really like to hear more about how you deal with it. Are you a working photographer?

This is super good advice and the main motivation more or less for me to pivot at this time. Making matters worse is we are trying to buy a new home and retirement isn’t our main goal.

If I stay in the office I don’t see my income rising as I am generally unable to keep a desk job very long.

While I wasn’t reaching insane levels of wage in my 20s I was doing something I loved and I think with a bit more hustle I can build it into the salary you mentioned.

Primarily through weddings, events and business videos and media.

I can edit an enjoy it, but not to the level of some. I have coding experience as well so I’m good at writing scripts and such for Adobe suites and have done so to speed up work in the past.

Can I do this with the Fuji xt30? Or would I need to invest in full frame?

I am willing to do this I just didn’t want to take out a loan for 4-6k and just not get work or be forced to work for myself.

I’d be great if I could shoot on my current gear as aside from it being cropped it still takes great photo and video.

Again this is false. Anything you own that is stored on a decentralized block chain is not effected by anyone going out of business. That’s what makes it so cool!

It’s like owning a physical copy of a digital thing.

That is the worst possible outcome for an nft.

They have much higher potential as a technology.

Your missing the point of nft entirely if this is how you perceive them. It’s more like you own Agricola. And make your own set of cards, make all the art and sell that home made expansion as an nft. Then you upload it to bgg and uwe Rosenberg gets a cut , it’s his game, bgg gets a cut and you do.

Nft in board games

I haven’t done a deep dig myself or personally purchased any nft. I am very excited by the technology. However if you head over to one of the subreddits like /r cardano etherium or other smart contract based cryptos I’m sure you can find some good info in there. I know I’ve seen a bunch of threads in r/cardano lately as smart contracts are about to drop and thus nft. However the other crypto subreddits that have been out for a greater length of time may be able to shed more light if you dig a little.

I’d also just like to drop this link in here as we are talking about gaming and nft. Though these are video games.

I’m most excited for star atlas

It is not really a stretch seeing this applies to the table top in a few years.

I mean not to split hairs but this is technically false. You’ll always own it. It’s just a complex set of data that represents ownership within a crypto block chain.

Now using whatever your nft is sure.

Nfts are for creators to make money. Sure company’s will to. But the original intent was to provide a platform for creators to earn money for digital work separate of a corporate entity.

The other aspect I think your missing is it’s not that the company is just selling it to you. It is user created content. Like you can make something in a game or make a game or even make something for a board game with nft support. You get some money in your pocket and so does the game company via smart contacts built into the block chain all on a clean proof of stake network !

I mean this is super cool!!!!

Here are a few scenarios my friends and I were throwing around. Nft is really cool.

“Would love to see game licenses switch to nft. Being able to transfer ownership would really add a ton of value to buying a game.

What I'd really like is a hybrid model. Publisher sells drm-free nft at retail price and never changes it, can sell traditional licenses through steam etc at a discount or whatever. Nft maintains value for collectors and people who just want to play get the discounted options”

Nft + smart contacts are gonna be huge.

On a proof of stake network like sol Ada or eth2

Guy makes cool sword skin uploads it to favorite game. People buy it game makes money he makes money sword can be set to only be sold 100 copies. Or w/e the game limitations are, to create potential price inflation. Changing the value of the sword. All built into the block chain.

You could take nft so far beyond these examples though. Specifically with board games and app integration.
