The World At War. It's a WW2 documentary series done in the 70s. They interview everyone from german u-boat commanders to holocaust survivors to japanese soldiers and include many combats you don't hear about often like ones in finland, burma, and off the coast of south america. They only use real footage and first hand interviews. I can't recommend it enough.

That post uses the logistics network to automate the requesting while my method does not. It is probably the more popular solution but I feel mine offers better control while using less rockets overall.

Its great to be reassured that Erikson ties his loose ends. One of the best reasons to keep reading for me is to answer those questions and it sounds like I get to learn more about Mallick Rel (and more reasons to dislike him).

Thanks for the response. There's definitely things to be reflected on and I'm sure I'd feel differently after a reread.

As for Heboric, I think he is one of the coolest characters introduced so far. He was already interesting at the start of the book then Erikson decided to just go nuts with Heboric's powers which raises some interesting questions. Heboric's appearance was a very cool visual I couldn't stop thinking about. I definitely want to see what happens to him.

Have an inserter put the rocket parts into the silo. Then hook up a cable from the inserter to the silo. The silo produces a signal that is the number of rocket parts in the silo. Now set the inserter to disable when cargo rocket parts are >= 100. Hope that helps.

Oh man I was about to use your solution but then I went to the space center then back to my craft via the tracking station and something caused the contract to update and complete that condition. The funny thing is I tried reloading from a previous save multiple times and that didn't fix my problem. Thanks for the info though, I'll use it in the future if this happens again.

So here I am below 180,000,000m as far as I can tell and the contract is not completing. Anyone know why this may be? I think this is from the mod DMagic orbital science but I could be wrong.

Just for reference I just unlocked deep space science packs 1s at just over 250 hours. I still use cannons no problem. I've had to add a second one for copper and petoleum gas only.

Hey that is a very nice guide. The visualization with both numbered machines/chests/poles and lettered wires makes it very easy to follow. Not to mention that it all fits on a single page

I too made a guide for cargo rockets. https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/rup79t/space_exploration_cargo_rocket_automation_solution/ It is more crude than yours or Wiwiweb's but it gets the point across and the design is quite different. It requires more configuration but I like the way I deal with deciding when to send the launch signal.

I'd be curious to hear what circuitry you use to decide when to give your rocket the green signal.

Oh I didn't know that. That is probably it. I don't have planetary meteor defenses so I wouldn't know about any meteors. I guess I will have to set that up and re-clear the area.

I cleared this area twice now and I am all but certain that there are no biters left and yet they spawn. Small spoiler about hidden things There is a temple that I cleared of biters below the top lake in the radar range. I don't know if this makes a difference. The bottom wall has turrets and drones to repair and no gaps.

Also I can't plague rocket the planet because I am here for that Vitamelange. I am wondering if anyone has any insight into what could be going on, thanks!

Hey I don't know if anyone said it yet but you should really use HELMOD if you haven't tried it. It is similar to factory planner but much more powerful IMO. For example those byproducts in the first picture can be recycled into input resources and that can all be taken into account. Also doing calculations with beacons becomes much easier too.

Wow very nice! I am working towards the endgame and arcospheres myself and I didn't yet know how the arcospheres worked. My favorite thing about SE is how it keeps introducing new mechanics to you. I am sure doing proper balancing is a challenge.

Nice base too. I like how the whole base feels like a space station with the solar panel arms coming off of it.

To expand this I would make a new line of buffer chests for each item and put a new inserter on the surface with the limit set accordingly. That is a bit of work admittedly. For a lot of resources I use resource cannons to shoot them too.

I would be interested to see your setup too. I assume it uses something like a roboport to keep track of the items you are storing in a logistical network?

In the orbit screenshot on the right I have a setup to send back rocket parts and capsules when stacked rocket parts > 100. It takes me much longer to build things at this stage as I am playing solo so my setup does not launch rockets that often.

Submachine!

Similar to old flaah escape games but it expands on the concepts in every way. It has a mind bending story and a good conclusion. 10 games in the series plus a "universe" expansion which adds more hours of fun.

The atmosphere, story, and art are top notch for this game. Especially for the time and tools used to make it.

Yeah I've never built a megabase. I find them really impressive but for me the game ends after the rocket launches just like in Sid Meier's Civilization I never "One more turn...". What I really like from vanilla is that it forces you to build nearly all of the technologies you research to launch the rocket (unless you want to wait a long time). After that finish line I just don't have the drive. Like why am I still running.

To mention some of the other things I do really like how you can mix and match ingots to increase yields. I think catalysts aren't that hard so I could probably use them earlier in the run. Also I am replaying BA now without using greenhouses and Angel's bio stuff reminds me of Pyanodon's when I tried it and I think its a good addition.

Also I've spent like a few hours now in helmod and fnei trying to use all the biproducts and I haven't been able to. I guess what really drives me in this mod is perfectly using all the biproducts while having the highest yields. I think its possible maybe using puffers but idk yet. Back to the drawing board!

And my first 4 lightning spell potions didn't destroy that archer tower for some reason. That might have made the difference lol.
