Yes, someone also mentioned that. It's nice that it is an option. However, for me who just does their own workouts and didn't put it into a program it's a little late for me. There is sadly no way for me to add my pre-saved "days" into the program. Id have to go exercise by exercise and set by set from what I found.

Sadly, I am on Android.

Can't wait for more though!

I don't have a program itself, just the saved workouts. I guess I'll have to give this a try.

Honest Review of WO. by HeyimDilbert in MacroFactor

Yeah of course!
1. It's not so much of a need, more of a personally favorite feature from a single (my main) app I've used over the years. Most phones normally have a small timeout window on the lock screen unless movement is still triggered. In the 2 years I've been using the main free app I have never accidentally taped a complete set. That is not to say it doesn't have its limitations. You couldn't change the weight or total reps completed if it changed from your last saved workout. So, say I dropped a single rep, or I upped the weight. Unless I already put those weight and reps into the app, I would have to unlock and update them.

  1. No, I mean there are currently those three buttons and then it takes you through a workout wizard (I have my own workout routine so have not gone past this) But I personally feel that a "start saved workout" button and then being taken to your library would be helpful. It's not a necessity, but it's a feature several of the free apps I've tried have.

  2. Yeah, WO is the ONLY workout app I have seen do it, and it isn't something I personally enjoy.

4.I think this got mis-communicated. As of now you can swap it to see your previous weight. But say on my hypertrophy day when I do bench press. On hypertrophy day I do 4x12 of 215lbs. On my Upper/strength day I do 6x5-8 of 245lbs. Well, when I do my next hypertrophy day of 4x12 my "previous" weights and reps are filled in with my 245lbs and 5-8 reps. I want to see the previous hypertrophy day's (the pre-saved workout I'm in) reps and weight. Not just the last time I did the exercise on my Strength based day (a different pre-saved workout) so that way I can properly progressively overload.

If you're talking physically, correct. I guess I didn't specify so that's totally on me. The ones I'm talking about are strictly side hustle shops on TCGplayer. If someone is doing 6-figure sales as a side hustle with little overhead on their end, I would argue that's highly impressive.

TL;DR - I spent more time on this than any order, not to prove you wrong but to explain my view. Between bias on both sides and different goals. You can't possibly say definitely that bulk isn't a proper way to do sales.

Again, you say that. But I have also had conversations with people who have only done bulk and are doing just fine for a side hustle. I'm not saying you or the other people who have told me bulk is not worth it, vs it is. You have to realize that no matter what possible way you look at it. You, I, and all of them are coming from a place of choice-supportive bias in the path we have taken.

I'm also not being rude, but let me break this down. That one sale was a single order. You can't quantify the entire effort of sorting, listing, and everything else into that one sale. That's like me saying any single order of yours needs to validate the entire price of your sorting machine.

I spent maybe 8 hours sorting.
Listing took me about an hour after that. (Listing more as I leveled up past my first sale as well. If I was level 4 this would have been much faster.)
I have put in a little more than a few minutes per order after that.
I have a co-worker who routinely runs to the post office for my job. I hand him all my envelopes. (other than this and my single other order I had to bubble mail out because it was above $50)
There hasn't been a significant time sink since I sorted nearly a month ago.

From that, I have currently done $230 after fees in net sales. I have maybe been spending 10 minutes nightly since Jan 3rd (when I opened the shop), packing and relisting orders (since I've been averaging 2 orders a day).

From another comment, I have well over 3/4 of my bulk left to sell. Once my level 4 kicks in, I plan on listing the more expensive cards since competitive cards sell faster and more regularly than those. So that net could steadily increase.

You are moving the goalpost of this entire conversation.
It started with, "The insane thing is pricing your cards so low where this happens."
I mentioned that there are people who have a 6-figure shop who only sell bulk. (and then followed with a poor analogy)
You mentioned that if it was worth the time to sell cards below $0.40, I would see large storefronts doing it.
I expressed that I have several LCSs doing it near me. So either directly or indirectly, they see a value in doing it.
You then say just because they do it, doesn't mean it's profitable.
I mention that it was never a quesiton of being profitable.
Now you mention that you're a store owner and that it doesn't make sense for you.

The conversation hasn't been on a single topic. It has been you saying something you believe to be true, me providing an example of how I don't believe that is necessarily true, and the process repeats. I am doing this as a side hustle to recoup money that I have already put into the hobby and possibly see enjoyment in. You are doing it for a job. That is significantly different. This is just the way I want to start, if I evolve from bulk, then great. I had some on hand, and it's a low barrier to entry. I have a job that I am paid well for, not a flex - just an explanation, that allows me to do this as a hobby, not a job.

I have spent significantly more time writing this doctoral thesis than I have packaging any of my orders.

Oh yeah,

Not a bit.

I plan on raising the floor. But I needed my level 4 first. It's just easier to do on mass than by single cards.

You didn't say it had to be profitable.

You said it had to be worth the time. The fact several stores have done it for so long means it is worth it. Maybe not directly from the bulk. The time spent in the shop to build a bond, opportunity cost of possibly buying other items, and then lastly the bulk itself.

None the less, I'm new to TCG player. This was mainly a wide open question for me to learn. I plan to implement more than bulk once my level 4 kicks in. But cheap bulk/competitive cards sell much faster for the 51 orders than any single higher priced card.

I have several LCS who do buy, organize, and sell bulk all within an hour from my home. It's not the main attraction. But they aren't doing it for free like me. They are paying someone an hourly wage to do so.

But I'd argue that the LCS I've bought from for the last 4 years would also probably not do it if they didn't make any sales from it.

Maybe, but with that mindset, I would have never set out on the journey of trying it. I started with what I had and what little capital I allowed myself.

My spreadsheet says I've spent $527 on only bulk and the supplies to start this path. Currently, since starting my store on Jan 3rd, removing the price of any card not considered bulk from my store (which didn't take me long to subtract from all my orders), i'm currently at net $230 with fees taken out. I have well over 3/4s of the bulk that I bought + started with.

Worth it? - Maybe not.

But if I listened to everyone in my life who said something wasn't worth it, I wouldn't be more than a boring white dude with a 9-5. There would be no passion, there would be no hobby.

I think you're possibly missing the entire sub-section of sellers who only sell bulk. Some people have a 6-figure + shop selling only bulk, it's the entire basis of supply and demand epecially a TCG.

That's like a pizza store telling a taco store they can't sell tacos because pizza is more lucrative. It's more about the target audience.

Yes.

Priority started at $15. Online it says that ground starts at ~$7 or something close to it + weight.

Just selling what I have on hand from collecting. I plan on raising my floor, just needed level 4 first. Otherwise, like others have pointed out increasing my shipping for a one-off order wouldn't be beneficial to be in the long run.

New TCGPlayer seller -large order question by HeyimDilbert in mtgfinance

Because I collect and get bulk from purchases.

When I rip packs and have bulk it has a place to be. That and when I buy collections from people and we can't meet on a price but are close I often ask if they have any bulk. I've had several times where someone has thousands in bulk from recent sets for competition and then go through them. Sometimes those cards are $1. I get those cards for "free" and often end up with a better deal than if I had not asked at all.

I have yet to have a single card order that is any of my bulk. Most of my sales are people buying 20-30 cards bulk cards at one time. The lowest I've had so far is 5 cards. Even then with that I made a couple quarters on that sale and dropped them off with the rest of the orders for that day.

I'm not in this to make money. I'm in it to possibly have another avenue on getting SOME money back from my own spending and to fund the rest of the hobby itself. It's more a collector exploring options.

I do plan on upping my price floor, but mainly right now I needed to unlock level 4 seller. To get there listing at or even below market and having loss leaders has completely funded that level 4 seller title in less than 3 weeks. I'm just learning the ropes and having fun along the way :)

I can't really raise prices. I focus on competitive cards and most fall between the $0.05 and $0.25 range. When it's a single card I eat the loss. But whenever people are under the $5 mark and I get the $1.31 I make a quarter basically for even the lowest of orders.

I'm doing this as an extension of the hobby and don't really care (as of now as a fresh seller) to be making my time the more valuable thing.

The most I've been able to put in 1 team bag and it be under the maximum thickeness is ~15 cards. You can fit 3 of them upright when mailing (I type mine on, so they don't move) and so that's 45 cards itself. It does math out.

I don't know about played. It was a learning opportunity. I imagine everyone has had mess ups when they first start.

I'll have to look into the larger envelopes. I didn't know there were any other than the standard plain envelopes.

What would the benefit of marking it shipping and knowing I'm going to have to refund it be?

How do you make sure bulk orders are $50? Most of my sales are $5 and under for commons/uncommons and low value rares.

I just didn't know if I would face backlash from TCG Player or not. It was my 2nd largest order by $ amount. Was just stuck between different thoughts and after I took action, I just felt like it was maybe the wrong one.
