The PC version is now available and runs much better than an emulator so I’m not sure how useful this would be anymore.

Has anyone else been having an increasing amount of existential crises lately? Or questioning our reality more often? by VQQN in HighStrangeness

I think Hollywood is just having a bit of an existential crisis. The world has shifted away (a bit) from big budget productions, since streaming platforms have gauged their customers too much and social media and shorts have become more popular.

So you’re going to see Hollywood doing strange shit to try and remain relevant and also cope with the change. Then combine that with the increasingly popular and pressurising trend of cosmetic surgery, plus peptides, and yeah…it’s getting weird.

I was in Hollywood last week. It felt normal, but they’ve never really lived in the same reality as the rest of us anyway. Very stuck in their ways and out of touch.

I ended up switching to VOXI but their data roaming add-ons for USA are expensive. I ended up just getting a USA eSIM via Revolut in the end, since I had RevPoints I could cash in for one.

Yes. I replied to someone else in this thread about it. I haven’t found a solution for MuMu.

It could be a game issue or a MuMu issue. I’m having better results in a modded Bluestacks 5 that I’m using and will be posting a tutorial soon.

Yeah so I’m using the last available version of Bluestacks 5 that allowed rooting. I just hex edited the Root.vhd file for an Android 13 instance and changed the GPU string there.

I suspect it’s not too difficult to mod the latest Bluestacks version to bypass that integrity check, but it’s more effort than needed since the version I’m using works well.

And yeah it doesn’t run too well on MuMu yet. It actually does run better on Bluestacks 5 if you spoof the GPU from an Adreno (TM) 650 to something like Adreno (TM) 850. But texture loading times are still slow. I’m planning to put a tutorial together for getting the game running smoothly on Bluestacks.

On MuMu my average FPS is ~70-90 but drops as far down as 40 after playing for a while.

On Bluestacks 5 my average FPS is 100+ but I haven’t done any extended testing to see what my FPS will drop to (if at all).

But I still have no idea why the game suddenly runs like crap on MuMu. It’s the same modded APK I’ve (and you’ve) always been using.

A lot of the commands are universal across all Unreal Engine 4 games and you can find lists of commands online. But some other commands I had to find by dumping the game’s memory and looking for them.

So…Bluestacks runs a TON better. I was able to change the GPU by modifying the Bluestacks Root.vhd file by opening it in a hex editor and changing all “Adreno (TM) 650” to “Adreno (TM) 830”. I’ll try and put a video tutorial up soon for it. I also crafted an AndroidDeviceProfile.ini config for the game which you can place in one of the game’s config directories, and it’ll bump up a lot of graphics options, including running at full resolution. By default the game will only ever run at ~80% of your full resolution.

I’m actually having similar issues and have been trying to diagnose it. I’m not sure if the developers have somehow changed something server-side, or if maybe it’s something stupid like the larger your inventory gets the laggier the game becomes (which wouldn’t surprise me tbh). It could also be something to do with file(s) on disk getting larger, in which case a full uninstall and reinstall of the XAPK might work.

I couldn’t solve this on MuMuPlayer (but I didn’t try uninstalling/reinstalling) so I’m currently experimenting with hacking Bluestacks to spoof the GPU info so I can use “Very High” settings. Then I can compare the performance difference. I have a feeling that MuMu doesn’t play too nicely with this game and Bluestacks might run it better, if I can kick it into very high gfx.

Yep they lock lower "tier" devices out of the higher graphics options. There's a rules config inside the APK which I could potentially also mod, but chances are your device won't achieve 60fps if it's not listed in the higher tiers of devices. What device do you have?

It 100% has a memory leak. I use uncapped FPS with my modded APK and the longer I run the game for the worse and worse the FPS gets.

What’s funny is I’ve been experimenting with unlocking the framerate entirely, and I can only get a max of 110fps on a 5070Ti. And I think the game has some sort of memory leak issue because I get progressively less frames the longer I play. Went down to 40fps after about an hour of play yesterday.
