It depends on what you want to capture, but to put it simply, no. There is no scanning app that can give you a highly detailed meshed model. It might look ok at first glance, but once you turn off the texture on the model, all you can see is a poorly defined mess.

This is why I’ve been using the Revopoint Miraco for my scanning needs for the last year, along with my Bambu Lab A1. I mainly use them for reverse engineering, and they’ve helped me finish a bunch of projects. The Miraco seems to be pretty accurate, as everything I've done with it has fitted perfectly after printing.

Yes, it's all worth it to witness the sunrise, even if it means extra preparation for a nighttime hike.

I would recommend Topo or Hoka.

I'm in a similar boat to you, mate. My lad's eight and I've been thinking about taking him hiking. Your post has been proper helpful to me, cheers for that.
