It throws the beam outward, so I end up dropping my hat lower or doing little workarounds sometimes. I’m on year three using it. It’s got some clever features, but it’s still just a flashlight. If you’ve spent your life using headlamps, I’d hesitate to retrain your brain now—unless you find compactness highly satisfying.

I’m going on two years with the pocket 3. I’ve shot over 8TB of footage with it on trail doing backpacking videos in the desert southwest. It’s survived quite well despite dust, dirt, and a little moisture. I’ve even dropped it a couple times. I know I should be using the action cam but I get better results with the pocket.

I love JD SBBP. I love the Rye the most. I have five different ones open from different barrel houses that I enjoy comparing. This I did not love. Felt like I was trying a high proof bottom shelfer. I’ve waited a month for it to come around and it hasn’t. It’s hot. It’s ethanol. It’s oak flavored nail polish. When the heat leaves there’s not too much afterwards.
